Channel 7 commentators ,who shits you most?

Bruce is the legend of seven but as far as the others go......

Drew Morphett is crap he must have thousands of love children he constantly tells them to "kick it son!" what a pain in the arse

For those who get the crows/power games Graham Cornes is shocking , if something good happens he laughs non-stop
as for 'boundary rider' Neil Kerley ,hes an embaressment to all South Australians he jumps on & off teams more often than can be explained ...all i can say is i wish he was a victorian so you would have to listen to his crap more often

Any way I wondered if anyone had anything else to say on this matter?

Bruce is good but should never be allowed, commentate when Carey (THE KING) is playing, Same as Denis Com on WCE games.
Generally I think the 7 commenators are not too bad, and if it is a live match mute the TV and listen to the ABC. Just imagine if 9 got to to call the game, Richie would still be calling the first Quarter at the final siren.

I used to despise "Knuckles" Kerley until an incident a couple of years back.

Kerls always picked Adelaide to win at home regardless of who they were playing and where they were on the ladder, as we all know. Four goals behind at 3/4 time, Kerls would still pick the Crows to win.

One day they were getting pumped and were about 11 goals down at 3/4 time. The main commentator crossed down to Kerls for a comment to which Knuckles duly replied.

The main commentator (possibly Sandy Roberts) then asked Kerls "So who's your tip from here."

To which Kerls started laughing before looking straight back at the camera ... "Geez, even I wouldn't pick the Crows from here."

I've got a fair bit of time for blokes who have the ability to laugh at themselves. Neil Kerley doesn't take himself too seriously so I think we shouldn't either. Like Ted Whitten he is good for the game.

In contrast Ian Robertson is a navy blue pain in the arse.

I remember him saying during one Carlton game "I love Peter Dean", to which you could almost hear Sandy Roberts in the background saying "Are you f*#king right, Robbo?"

Dermott is alright until his head starts swelling.

Neil Kerley and Graham Cornes are the worst because there so biased.Matthew Campbell is hopeless.Dipper -can't understand a bloody word.Plugger Lockett - retire now.Fat arse Dunstall -w***er who thinks he's funny.
Bruuuuuuuuuuuce should be banned from commentating when Carey,Hird,Jarman,Voss,O'Loughlin or Buckley are playing [just ban him anyway].

we have all talked about commentators in the past but I would like to talk about bias and commentators.

Commentators who show their bias (and should be sacked for it)

Tim Lane - Carlton
Ian Robertson - Carlton
Denis Cometti - Weagles
Neil Kerley - Crows
Graeme Cornes - Crows and Port
Paul Roos - Swans

Bruce McAveney is not biased - hes just a terribly patronising lttle twerp who constantly annoys.

The others are shockers as well

Dipierdomenico - can't talk properly
Hawkins - ditto
Lockett - improving, but why is this shy mumbler on the telly at all ?
Brereton - Hey Dermie if you know it all why don't you put your money where your mouth is and coach ? - because you are so vain and conceited you couldn't bear to go through what Tim Watson has been through ?
Dunstall - fat smart arse, again not half the 'expert' he would like to think he is.
Shaw - surprisingly good, but he ain't no comedian.
Longmire / Viney - give it away boys
Bartlett - the best of the ex-players, only because he has been doing it for so long I guess
Sandy Roberts - a bore
Malcolm Blight - at least he isn't as narky and grumpy as when he is on Talking Footy.

Agree with most of your list there although I would add a few points:

Put Lockett up under the bias list with the Swans.

Add Anthony Hudson as a good caller of the game.

Shaw - give him the flick - is as good at commentating as he was at coaching!!

We have talked commentators before and I have said that I really like Hudsons style. His voice is a little on the squeaky side but he knows how to call a footy game. Is this because he is ex-radio I wonder ? It just seems the best commentators (any sport)all came up through the ranks in radio.

Maybe when you work for radio you get constant coaching and drilling on proper speech and pronunciation.

Oh yeah - Lockett is biased towards the Swans, he should do more boundary riding where you don't get so much opportunity to display your bias.

BSA did you know that Dennis Commetti actually supports the Western Bulldogs? So I don't know how he can show a bias to the West Coast Eagles.

Chris Mainwaring is a shocker, his comments are pathetic, and why the hell don't Perth games get two commentators and one special comments man, every other state gets that, sometimes even more.

Getting stuck with Morphett for Dockers games played in perth sucked this year as well. I just turned the volume down and listened to PMFM 92.9

Would never have known that - I take it all back regarding Cometti.

Chris Mainwaring is pretty terrible, but I loved his comment during the Fremantle v Richmond game when the ball was thrown back into the field from the boundary line by a Dockers player and it wasn't spotted by the umpire. Mainwaring suggested that its 'was totally out of control' out there - I had to laugh, a great comment.

The same should be asked of that annyoing little Bruce McAvaney with Wayne Carey.

Robbo is absolutely useless. They got rid of Don Scott and Mick McGuane because no-one could understand them. Get Rid of this biased bastard too.

Huddo is clearly biased towards Geelong, but I like that occasionally.

I really like Sandy Roberts and Dennis 'like a cork in the ocean' Commetti. Of the former players, KB is excellent and Gerard Healy is a very good special comments man.

The reason why Cornsey and Kerls are biased towards Adelaide teams is that they are paired up with biased Melbourne commentators each game. Once when Cornsey was commentating a game between the Crows and the Kangaroos he was actually told to stop being so biased to the Crows. This order came down the wires from Melbourne by a goon who turned out to be a Kangaroos supporter.

Sandy Roberts is without a doubt the not gayest and mst annoying commentator in any sport in any world.

also i think bruce is a dick, kerls is a legend, bruce abernathy and graham kornes are ****!
