We have an inform rance.

Yep I'd back Rancer to keep Nick to a couple of goals (if we are without Chaplin), I'd also back David to keep Justin to 1 or 2 as well and they will not have Milne this week either. If Chaplin comes in I think Rance then becomes a real attacking weapon off the back as well as our usual suspects Bachar etc....

Thank ******* god :)
If he doesn't come up, I'd bring in Batchelor and give Astbury a job on Koschtitske. We wouldn't lose much structurally, just be setting a bit of a challenge for Astbury to prove he can handle the big boys shall we need him too in the future.

Are we aware that Astbury's done a hammy?
I'm tipping they both miss.
The return of Griff!!!!!!

Astbury has reported tightness in the hammy I think (based on last night-haven't heard anything today). Griff has been playing up forward for the Burgers recently hasn't he? I'd like to see him back in the team though.... just prefer he was firing first!

Agree on all of that but I saw him grab at it so who knows. I reckon tightness = miss in this case.
Griff in only because he's played back there and has size. But jeez you'd like to see him in the bests at Coburg a couple of times. Like you said.:thumbsu:

What a massive relief that is! I'd almost be happy for him to miss this week, just to make sure he is right. But I think we may need him. He is the general back there, very important to our structure.

Batch in for Astbury though.

Rance took Riewoldt when he went up the ground, Chaplin when he was down back. Will be interesting if they go Rance on Riewoldt the whole game or bring someone else in (if Chaplin can't play) that will play on Riewoldt when he's in our defensive 50.
Riewoldt on...Riewoldt?

:)

What's the deal with Dea? Been watching some past games and the kid has some natural talent and has looked solid. Is it just a matter of structure being the reason he isn't playing at the moment or his recent injury?

N Riewoldt generally doesn't do his damage on the scoreboard. He's not someone who will dominate against you by kicking a big bag ala a Franklin or Jack Riewoldt.

N Riewoldt's more your 2-3 goals 20+ possessions 10+ marks type player. So we need to limit NR around the ground as well as he doesn't need to score a lot of goals to do damage. I don't think it's a massive issue as we should be too good for the Saints anyway but yeh I think Rance would be the best bet to follow him around the ground. Probably the best guy we have to match him fitness/athleticism wise.

No, but he does enough to keep StK in the game and then anything can happen. He has also been gifted stupid free kicks against us and if we can force him to roam outside 50 they will be less costly and he will be less damaging. Unfortunately, as good as Rance has been playing he is prone to give away at least a couple of stupid frees against big strong marking forwards.

Just checked the injury update on Chappy on the web where it says that he'll be tested.

There's a likely chance that he'll be rested this week, but hoping we have him back fit and firing for very crucial matches against Freo, Swans and Hawks.

That said, hopefully we are not caught shot against the Aints on Sunday!
