This thread is a disgrace. How can you guys be bagging a Geelong legend after a nab performance that wasn't even that bad. You should hand in your memberships.

Are we going to have put up with these shit catman71 threads every time chappy plays poorly or turns the ball over or misses a goal.

FFS catman71 move on, the rest of us have. Chappy plays for essendon now, good luck to him but I buy my membership to watch geelong. I will never forget or devalue what chappy achieved here, but he isn't now so Move on

....unlike Geelong, who are paying less to keep a winning team together.

Funny, I thought Chapman espoused the theory for turning down offers from other clubs to remain together to create a dynasty. I'm sure I heard him say that back in 2007.
And he was faithful to that as were a lot of players on the list in the halcyon days.
The Cats weren't prepared to grant him a contract without certain conditions applying. He was not prepared to accept those conditions and went elsewhere.
I have no problems with Chappy and wish him "a qualified" good future.

Of course, if Chappy went to Hawthorn he would be dead to me.

I listened to Adam Ramanauskas provide some sparkling special comments. Emphasis on special:

'If Essendon can't kick a winning score week to week, they'll be in trouble.'

'It's a real problem for Butcher. When he gets it right he never misses but that's not very often.'
