If it were torn he wouldnt of been jogging around the boundary during the 3rd qtr, for a moment there i thought he wanted to be the hero and come back on in an act to lift the boys when we had lost the momentum a bit, he obviously didnt end up coming back, back just the fact he was jogging around instead of sitting down icing it shows that perhaps the doctors didnt want to risk a strain turning into a tear, hopefully plays this week against the tigs, but we have been cautious with other injuries this year so id guess he'd miss at least 1 week

He was suppossed to be having scans today. Has anyone heard anything on how bad, or good the injury is?

Anyone seen the ladder lately?

Totally irrelevant who we are playing this week - if the club thinks Chappy is any significant risk of doing himself some long term damage, he will not play.

Absolutely no reason to risk him at this point - needs to be fit and firing for the finals. He was carving up the Hawks Friday night - that's what the club will be thinking about in ensuring that he's right for September.

We don't risk further injury to players by throwing them in anymore. We don't need to, for two key reasons.

(1) Ladder position is so handy that we're not under pressure to lose our positional advantage for the finals series.

(2) The replacement players are standing up, doing the job, and giving the coaching staff a good look at whether they'll make it in the future.

Chappy's a staple of my DT so I'm aways gutted when he misses, but I'm almost sure I'll be living with hs absence for a week at least. Cats will be safety first big time.

GO CATS!!!

Looks foolish when they bounce back a matter of minutes later i.e. Maher's assessment of Stokesy in the GF last year....laughable.

Bloody hell, talk about the benefit of hindsight! I thought he was gone. Everyone I know thought he was gone. Initially even STOKESY thought he was gone!

Bloody good thing he wasn't!:D

you think boundary riders like olarenshaw and maher would quit making quick and ridiculous assessments of players when they come off the ground. Tell me who in their right mind is going to believe Olarenshaw when he says 2 or 3 week injury when all he saw was him go up the race. Looks foolish when they bounce back a matter of minutes later i.e. Maher's assessment of Stokesy in the GF last year....laughable. Get some facts before running your mouth. Bring back Doctor smooth, he was a good boundary rider on Friday night football. Someone with knowledge of sports injuries. Someone who's opinion you'd respect

Not to mention the fact you need Foxtel instant replay-slomo shite to discern what he's actually saying.

So what's the final word on Chapman?

According to The Age Chappy's got a slight hamstring tear and may miss a fortnight if not more (next two against Richmond & Melbourne, then Sydney 'up there').

Depends what newspaper you read.

Some say 1-2, others 2-3 and even 3-4.

So much for it being a "strain" and Balme and Bomber both saying it's not serious.

If you miss 3-4 weeks with a "strain" I would be calling that serious.

He's got a history, and he's massively important to the team, so they'll take their sweet time (with disastrous consequences for all my fantasy teams).

The Cats don't need to risk anyone for the next few weeks anyway. They can stroll into first from here. What a team.

Not expecting them to risk it with Ablett this week either, are we?
