Charcoal Chicken on Bridge road in between Church and say Coppin? Even after a two-three month closure due to a fire, still cooking great chickens and making great burgers!

I heard the chicken tastes a bit different there apparently it's nicer??

I think the cook it differently or something.

Any truth to this?

They have more of the upmarket style chicken shops with marinated skinless type chicken and tasty looking salads and the like. As i don't eat enough salad or skinless chicken I can't say whether they taste any better. They do seem to have more options in store though.
I can't remember anything amazing from the regular charcoal chicken.

seriously guys you gotta try "chicken salad spot" in gladstone park.

1/4 chicken and chips plus a can of soft drink for $4.80...quality, is good, quantity is awesome, the box don't close.

never heard a bad word about it and i'm happy to travel 20 minutes to get it.

Chookos in Mooroolbark used to be great. Not sure if it's still around. Was very good value. Their salads and schintzels were the best.

Side note - charcoal chicken places don't exist in Canada. Somebody come and start one up in Vancouver and I'll keep you in business :p

Parkmore Charcoal Chicken

Half charcoal pack with pasta salad for $11. Feed a family of 8 :)

Tried out King Chooks yesterday after work. Decided on the chicken schnitzel/chips/coleslaw pack: have to say it was the best schnitzel pack I've had since Chicken Chef in South Australia. Will definitely be going back for the chicken at a later date. Was pleased to see a proper charcoal fire - in the years past most Chicken shops seem to be going down either the gas/electric way, which doesn't have that same smoky flavour.

I travel 15 minutes also and pass no less than 5 chicken joints to go here. My kind of chips too. Big fat gravy-soakers. Great chicken, amazing value. I'm pretty sure they have a chicken roll and chips (once again, can't close the lid) deal for $2.50? Absurd.
