I've heard a few people say the WCE fans are nothing but Chardonnay sipping band-wagon followers who will jump ship by Round 12 this year.

Will you still go to the games?!?

While I have no doubt their will be a few who jump ship, I will still be around! While I might have a few gripes which I will whinge about, I will still be a proud Eagles fan. I have no doubt that all BF Eagles fans are passionate and will follow their team through and through.

But, do you feel as if some will jump ship? I spose, on the bright side, it might actually be a chance for me to get a full membership which I can hold on too for years to come...! :D

Too be honest, I was getting sick of listening to the old nanas calling up the last few years and being very critical of Fremantle...just because they can! I used to just cringe and turn it off for 5 minutes!!!

My first year in Melbourne.

It's gonna be fun copping it from the fans over here if we get on the wrong end of some games

Having said that I'll still turn up, and will re-new both my Perth and Melbourne memberships next year

I don't get how anyone who follows a team closely can jump ship.

I couldn't imagine supporting any of those inferior teams.

I've heard the same thing too mostly from Freo supporters which is ironic considering the Dockers were averaging 22,000-24,000 per home game during the Damian Drum days. Unfortunately, some supporters will lose interest - that is just human nature and it is the same at every club. West Coast is no worse or better than any other. Just look at Melbourne's attendances now compared to 1998 and 2000 when they were one of the top sides? Look at Freo in 2003 and 2006 compared to 2000 and 2001. We were still getting 32,000-35,000 to our home games in the Ken Judge days, admittedly that is less than during our successful seasons but still nothing to be ashamed of.

Who drinks Chardonnay? Thats disgusting shit...

And no, I would never "jump the ship", considering I got though 2000-01 alive I believe I'll manage to support them this year even if round 1 was the last win for the season.

Unless something dreadfully happens like say the team folds, killed, gets kicked out, etc then theres not much option as theres no team to follow.
Still wouldnt drink Chardonnay though.

obviously there will be some people jumping ship, i think its a good thing. it will make the games more enjoyable because the majority of people there are ____wits. the less ____wits the better.

Why the hell would anyone who considers themselves a supporter "jump ship"?? West Coast are one of the most successful teams of the competition. In the 20 odd years of our existance we've played in 5 grand finals, you find me another team with that sort of record. If anyone wants to jump ship fine by me but i'll be sticking with West Coast, gotta take the good with the bad people.

i think a few will jump ship. If we finish outside teh 8 which i now think will happen for the first time under Worsfold, around about 5000 will drop off. There is a massive waiting list however so maybe we will still get a full house to every game like we have for the past few years.

I wont mind if there are a few sippers jumping ship because for about 10 years ive wanted 1 extra seat where i sit.

all teams have bandwagoners. you shouldn't worry about it if your not one of them.
Too true. Every team does. I'm sure a lot of people came on board when we were having a good run. Those of us that are true supporters still went during the Judge years (ack!!) and we will still be there now when the team needs us! We're only 3 rounds in and although the start of this season hasn't been promising they are still the West Coast Eagles and we will still be there win or lose!
