Nine things we learned
9. Look no further than Charlie Cameron as the All Australian small forward
If he didn't have a spot locked up before, Lions livewire Charlie Cameron inked his name in the Virgin Australia AFL All Australian team with another four goals against the Bulldogs. In a versatile forward line that's difficult to defend, Cameron is becoming Brisbane's most lethal weapon, again used as the deepest player to maximise his speed in space. He's now kicked 41 goals from his 19 games, well clear of Eddie Betts (35), Alex Sexton (35), Jordan de Goey (34) and Michael Walters (34). Whether it's on the lead, in the contest or at ground level, Cameron rarely loses his feet and is lethal off both sides of his body.

Anyone still think you over payed for him?
With Fog showing alot today for us, hopefully this will be a win win trade.
No I think most were on the Charlie train following his form up to injury last season. I think it will be seen as a win win eventually. Why hasn't Fogarty been able to get into your side until today?

Our coaching staff were under the mistaken belief we were still in with a shot for the flag and so decided to stick with the more experienced players who they thought would be more likely to get us the flag, at the expense of our jr development.

Its also great to see Jarryd Lyons doing so well for you guys. There was alot of Crows supporters who were miffed at how we traded him out so cheaply to GC. There are alot more people miffed however with the incompetence of GC is letting him go like they did.
Quality lad and is an honest hard working player.

Mark Robinson reveals his likes and dislikes for Round 21
5. Mitch and Charlie

The Lions are the story of the season to date and Mitch Robinson and Charlie Cameron are two of the better stories at the Lions. Loved how coach Chris Fagan was smiling when he compared Cameron to Cyril Rioli. It was a smile of adoration and appreciation, acknowledging he has been lucky to be at two clubs and be entertained by two incredible footballers. Robinson has been sent to the wing this year which was initially curious as wingmen generally have to be good users of the ball. Mitch is a plunderer in the nicest sense of the word. He gets the ball and just propels it forward. It’s worked. He is averaging a career-high 93 ranking points and is averaging career highs for uncontested possessions, metres gained and intercept possessions. Since the bye he has averaged 22 disposals and 523m gained — ranked third in the league. Who would ever have thought this crash-bang player would become an elite outside player.

Not sure how many people care but here's a picture of where it all began for Charlie Cameron when he played for Marist College's Ashgrove Eagles U15s Aussie rules team in 2008.

And here's a little write up on how it happened:
It all started with the 2008 under 15 Marist Ashgrove Eagles Aussie Rules team. It featured a wispy but cheerful young boarder, a gifted athlete from Mornington Island named Charles W. Cameron. Ironically, he had been introduced by this famous rugby stronghold to what was the post season novelty of Aussie Rules. Over the following years, he became a permanent feature in the Ashgrove Eagles.

After graduating in 2011, Charlie moved to W.A to be closer to his family, developed his skills and was ultimately picked up in the AFL draft by the Adelaide Crows. An Ashgrove Eagle to an Adelaide Crow. The rest, as they say, is history.

How’s the size of the leg next to Charlie’s?
