Most likely we rookie him, the other clubs have had two looks at him and none have taken the bait.

I agree although i would rather we didnt rookie him but i think we will.

North Melbourne have a unique opportunity to do one of the funniest things ever at the national draft.

I guess this comment in the article about Mumford also applies to Constable;
Under AFL rules if a player has not nominated for the previous year's draft, they cannot then be selected by their original club again at the following mid-season intake.
Including the SSP if Geelong took him back as a rookie that way.

And of course, if Geelong were to re-rookie him via the draft as clubs often do, he would still need to nominate as usual in order for them to draft him.

Pretty logical replacement but Greenwood>>>>>>>>Constable.

Gold Coast should have learned by now not to pick up Geelong players 😉
What are Constable's flaws?

People on our board have said various combinations of
- Slow
- No tank
- Poor kick
- Lack of versatility

Others have refuted some of those things. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

His kicking is fine I think he just rarely uses it because of the game style he plays.

The lack of tank and acceleration I think are really drivers of his lack of versatility. If his tank could be fixed I think his whole have would open up. But having been this many years I just would not get my hopes up

2 and 4 are the reasons he didn't get games for us. That would be beyond debate.

1 and 3 are probably right too but manageable for an inside mid.

Well Greenwood must be in the slowest 5 midfielders in the league.
Maybe we try and get Charlie to just play a pure defensive role.
Interested to see how he goes (if we pick him up)

he is basically George Horlin-Smith V2.

It's funny, I remember when he was drafted it was his versatility that was seen as one of his strengths.

I think his lack of pace has meant it hasn't transferred to AFL level. You can't really be sticking your slowest player on a back flank..

Would love to see him take his opportunity in the GC midfield.

If he could run at the capacity of an afl player could then you could imagine deploying him as a kind of utility.
