We had one for Harry last year, now (to me
my total delight and surprise) our Charlie is closing in one his first, 4 goal lead over Jeremey Cameron with 4 games left in the least.

Let's get our King over the line friends, and even if he falls just short, just so proud of Charlie, this is the star we all thought he would be before a couple of serious injuries robbed us of his immense talents.

Wouldn't have thought there would be many instances previously of two different players from the same club winning the Coleman in consecutive seasons.

BRING IT HOME CHARLES !!! 💙💙💙

I would love this to happen for the comeback story, for Curnow himself, for the history (there hasn’t been two different consecutive medalists at the same club in over 100 years)… but being super realistic about it I think Cameron is going to come home with a wet sail.

He’s got the Bulldogs, Saints and West Coast at GMHBA to come and if there’s any sniff he could get the lead/medal in R23 then Geelong will make it happen…

All that said COME ON KING CHARLES

Tend to agree. That round 23 game against Weagles at GMHBA looks ominous - Weagles could have pick 1 in their sights and there's a fair chance the Cats have locked in top spot by then and will be looking to feed Cameron everything if he's within striking distance. Charlie will need a buffer.

My thoughts exactly would need to be 8-10 up before the last. You know they’ll look for him.

This doesnt matter - to anyone with any idea about football, they would know if Cameron had 2 years out of the game very small chance he would be in the coleman mix. Let alone the fact that he is playing in the best team with the best delivery also. Imagine if Charlie had the delivery he had.

This is some serious comeback after being out of the game for so long.

5 goal lead over Cameron just to be exact. Let's not rob our man of one this close to the end.

I was worried he wouldn't be the same player he was before the knee injuries.

And he is isn't.... He's much better!
Getting major déjà vu with this post...

Maybe Scott rests a few before the finals though.

And now for something completely different...

I was watching highlights of the 2013 EF from another thread and I saw footage of Waite.

It reminded me that he was so unique. He was a key forward, but wasn't particularly tall for CHF. He had a huge leap, but was equally at home on the ground. He was a great grab, but also agile and opportunistic.

The more I thought of Waite, the more it reminded me of Charlie. I think Charlie is the more gifted player, but they share so many characteristics.

It's a shame Waite didn't have a clearer run with injury and we couldn't make every year a contract year. Otherwise we might have seen something like the consistent awesomeness we are seeing with Charlie.

On board with this. Waite had that nasty streak which Charlie doesn’t have though. Cost him plenty of games.

we might forget how good waite was when he was on - they couldn't man him, beautiful mark (pack specialist) loved to lead, improved his kicking off the charts to be lethal inside 50, catlike reactions like charlie and pretty good on the ground - he had more going for him than working against him although some of his flaws were self inflicted............

Absolutely. Unstoppable on his day. Just wish we'd seen more of those.

I prefer Charlie's more disciplined restrain to Waite's undisciplined aggression.

Waite cost us more than one game over the years from either silly free kicks or needless brain fades that often resulted in suspension.

I think Charlie is better below the knees and crumbling as well.

I believe the children are our future and that it is actually possible to compare 2 things without feeling the need to declare one "better" than the other.....

Loved a final too. Can see that in Charlie.

Beyond that I agree with what you said but add we never saw Waite return from injury like Charlie has, and that is attitude related (coach and facilities too I grant).
