I dislike carey as a bloke and his past behaviours are inexcusable - in a footballing context you would imagine he has better judgement on a player's potential than he ever did in his own personal decision making - he is seriously bullish on our list........like, seriously..........

don't forget your free 2014 gift thread!
No! I am still traumatised at the small browsing I did in it months ago. Pre-2015 this century should be deleted from the memory if at all possible.
The current one is where it is at. Good work!!!!

Whilst Cripps was doing captain duties being interviewed...Weitering gathered all the players together after the disgusting final seconds capitulation against GC and tore shreds off them - not Simpson not Murphy and not any other 'pretend' leader. One of teh most impressive things I've seen from a young player finding his own way in AFL. he will never win Carlton a game unless he goes forward and kicks 3 on a Rance like he did in his first year....

Charlie is always going to be fragile and injury prone because that's how he is built - Thoroughbred legs - he is capable of turning a game - a rare attribute.

Harry hasn't played 20 games yet and the Club might stuff him up playing him as a ruck relief which to me would be a terrible waste and high risk- lets see how he goes over the next 20 or so games - but I have very high hopes that he becomes Carlton's first serious FF since Fev days - he could kick 5+ goals in a game against any opposition.

Middle finger up to all the SOS baggers- you know who you are.

Bit of recency bias in here... It's still Charlie and that's no slight on the other 2. All will be multiple AAs.
You may be right regarding bias H has been enormous this year to date HOWEVER although all 3 were picked in the same draft Harrys development has been behind the other 2 atleast 12-18 months if not more due to injuries and a body not as developed as Charlie and Jacob.
He is 30 senior games behind Charlie and 40 behind Jacob in those games while these guys were getting valuable senior experience Harry was either injured or languishing forward in a sub standard reserves team .
The club clearly did the right thing with his fitness concerns but its only been since he entered the senior team that his development has really began which was really only last year .
What he has done so far this year in particular with his contested marking is unbelievable considering he is more like a 2nd to 3rd year key forward than a 4th .
Imo this poll is a year or 2 early give it a couple of years for Harry to get to 50 games and it will be obvious Harry will be the better and most influential of the 3 .

Pretty incredible draft really.

If all injury free I personally take Harry.

Incredible marking, great kick, speed, agility, great below knees, aggressive, height, long arms, leap, steps up in big moments, swagger.

Don’t get me wrong all 3 are potential AA in their positions.

We are incredibly lucky.

#sosnailedit..

Ha ha imagine dodumbo taking Francis and parish.

That’s just the icing on the cake of an amazing draft year!!

We're talking about roles, not talent.

No-one said he won't be a very good player, talking about where and how he will be played.

If you don't see him in the gapfiller role, where do you see him instead?
His current role is pretty much his go atm. Half forward with stints in the middle. Eventually he'll end up more middle than forward as he develops.

Imagine if there was a list manager smart enough to nab all three of them in the one draft. That, my friends, would be something out of the ordinary.
Would just like to applaud SOS again for his efforts.

Was able to secure pick 8 for Henderson and pick 11 from deals with the Dogs and Brisbane. Then pick 19 for Yarran.
Netted us McKay, Curnow & Cuningham...wow.

Could very easily end up with the best 3 talls of the draft...the only competition is Hipwood. Schache and Weideman both look like possible busts.

Don't forget at the time our big hopes were on guys like Watson and Jaksch...he's done an outstanding job.

I’m going off the long run here:

I think we got the three best players from the 2015 draft. You can have Oliver. Pass on Hipwood- guy takes no contested marks and doesn’t get the ball. Only Hopper a genuine thought but he’s vanilla. And we don’t like vanilla...

But seriously, Hopper is in the convo. I couldn’t be more off Oliver.

But if I redrafted today I’d go:

1. CC
2. Mckay
3. Weiters
4. Hopper
5. mills
6. Oliver
7. Hipwood

:thumbsu: ... + Cuningham + JSOS. What a year 2015 might turn out to be in the fullness of time - all five might just collect premiership medallions in our 17th flag.
