From the small sample set McKay has every bit as much talent as Joe Daniher.
He's our best forward prospect since Josh Kennedy.

Every chance McKay coulds kick 6 or 7 on some side this year.

Quite possibly correct on all three propositions.

But in reality we have seen McKay have a season to date which gives a high level of belief he belongs at this level. Topped by a "breakout game" in front of a dominant midfield and against a defence which had not one player with the physical tools to match up on him.

So the breakout was downhill with a tailwind.

Until or when McKay impacts a game to that extent against a strong defence (especially one not made up of short people) and with his midfield getting toweled up, he remains clearly behind Daniher.

That's swimming against the tide, and Daniher has done it on multiple occasions. Most recently yesterday.

We've got a hell of a spine and that's fantastic. Just need to develop and grow the centers and peripheral players. Couldn't separate them at this stage, will be great to see them all fire, when this happens we're going to be good to watch.

Been thinking a bit about this one. And I reckon it's just about impossible to split them - the reality is you'd love to have any of them.

Very early in their respective careers but all have shown outstanding signs and project as magnificent long-term contributors.

Amazing to think we got them all in the one draft and SOS and his recruiting staff deserve a lot of credit for it.

If I have to choose one I'm probably going with Weitering. Probably the least flashy of the three but great teams are built on great defenses, and you can certainly see Weiters being a massive part of one of those.

Revisit in a decade.

Charlie McWeitering....

Almost impossible to choose, I can make a legitimate case for all three.

If I had to pick, maybe Curnow the Younger. Just.
I was gonna say Big Harry Weinow but I like yours as well.

Jacob Curnkay also works.

Mmmmmkay.

Weiters the leader.

Charles the highlight reel.

Big H the contested beast.

Can’t choose, love em all :blueheart:

Weitering and McKay will be All-Australians for years unless injury cruels them. Curnow has the highest upside but the least likely of the three to realize it.

Weits - McKay - Curnow in that order for mine.

Extremely blessed to have any one of them but to have all three is God-level recruiting.

I know Geelong and the Hawks have a couple of mind blowing single draft years but I can really see this being the best single club draft year in history.
5 x 100+ game players. 3 x multiple AA players. ? X premierships (plenty).

Would tack on brownlows and Norm Smith’s but I feel Crippa and Walshy May pinch them.

Really hard to split these three. I’d go with Harry at #1 because he has the potential to be the best genuine key forward since Nick Riewoldt and at the very least he should be extremely good.

Weiters has the lowest ceiling (only because the others are so high) but he’s forming as an equally safe bet and will be our general down back for the next 10 years.

Charlie is the enigma. We all know that his best is insanely good but the challenge is for him to consistently influence games.

We’re incredibly lucky to have all three.

Curnow has struggled this year. Injuries have played a big part so it is tough to judge him at the moment.

Weiters has been solid without being eye catching. Sometimes I do worry when he is under pressure with ball in hand.

McKay this year has shown great signs. Clean hands and presents well. Kicking is generally smooth from the set shot. Would love to see him present up as the bail out option from defence on a more consistent basis.

These three young men will form an important spine for the Blues if they can continue to develop and bank more games on the park together.

We must remember they are all under 23 years old!

Our spine is pretty incredible moving forward.

FB: Jones
CHB: Weitering
C: Cripps
CHF: C. Curnow
FF: H. McKay

Not sure how much longer Jones stays in that line up, hes safe as houses for the time being. Wonder if its worthwhile making a play for B. McKay. Hope he gets named this week so we can have a proper look at him. Harry vs Ben could make for a good contest.

C. Curnow does not seem a traditional CHF to me.
Seems more a wingman / swingman to me.
Got to use his running potential.
Modern day Kouta.

CHF: M McGovern

Mitch is more of a leaper. He can take incredible grabs, but I am not sure he has the physical presence for CHF. Maybe that is not needed in the modern game, but having a pack splitter for our fleet of slick forwards(hoping next year) at his feet would be great.

McKay will be the best forward in the comp in 2 years time. His height with speed and agility is amazing and as his confidence grows it will be like watching Buddy 2.0. Only played 20 games and now getting continuity will only get better. But if I was to rate them by sharing a percentage of 100. Curnow 33%
Weitering 33%
McKay 34%
2015 draft total 100%

Different spin on things...

If we went after a Josh Kelly and GWS demanded any of the 3, who would you give up? Hmmmmm
None. Never give up a key position potential star for a gun mid. Although Judd was a champion I still think keeping Kennedy and picks that year was a better deal.

Weitering is gonna be that player in defense that just makes you feel safe, that you know you can rely on. Think Kouta and his defensive marks in the prelim against Essendon but game after game.

I'm loving what I'm seeing from Harry, but I don't think our opposition have really keyed in on trying to stop him yet.

Curnow is interesting. Think he's more of a roamer than a KPP.

One will be consistently best 5
One will be a game changer 30% of the time
One will Jarrad Waite.

My early prediction.

who's who?

Interesting question. My thoughts turned to the fact that when it comes to the best key defenders of the past thirty years, they’re all premiership players.
- Silvagni
- Scarlett
- Fletcher
- Rance
- Lake
- Rance
- McGovern

However, with key forwards you see hard luck stories such as:
- Lockett
- Ablett
- Fevola
- Pavlich
- Richardson
- Riewoldt
- Gehrig
- Modra

With this in mind, I think Weitering can join that list of great backmen and be our premiership CHB.

What about Buddy, Carey, Kernahan, Dunstall, Brereton to name a few.

Curnow will still be the best of the lot.
Has the potential to be a game-winner.
Yep he is probably still a couple of years from it all clicking consistently but he'll do as he pleases once it does. Guy was turning on the spot and hitting up 50m passes to the centre in his second year.
