Chasing Kerr?

Do we have tha BALLS to go after him?

Give up our first and maybe second pick plus a Polo or equivalent.

It appears from reading between the lines (only my take) Wallace wants to chase a big fish, remember his article in the Herald/Sun on this being a good draft to swap a high pick for gun player.

For once I hope we show some spunk and do it.

Kerr in the Yellow and Black = 100 wet dreams for me :o

No for Kerr, see bold in above.

T4P, for every gun player picked with a top 10 pick, I can name a failed draft pick. There is a risk with any pick that the player wont live up to the expectations. There is a greater risk that the chosen player wont reach Kerr's standard. few do.

Your right West Coast would want more than just pick 8. I am thinking something like pick 8 plus an early second rounder that we might be able to pick up for Schulz or something along those lines.

Midfielders are a dime a dozen. Gun mids are not. West Coast were a very powerful team with basically 3 absolute gun mids and a capable team around them. elite midfield strength equals a strong side. Kerr is one of the top 4 or 5 mids in the game.

Kerr, Cotchin, Deledio, Foley, Tuck White, Cogs, Tambling, Jackson. There would be some real depth to our midfield with that line up even if we have to throw one of the lesser names into the trade to get Kerr.

I like White, I like Jackson, I like Schulz for that matter. But I would throw any of them into a deal to get a player of Kerr's standard in a second.

He is 25. To say he is past his peak is ridiculous.

I am not saying get him at any cost. But if the deal is not completely over priced we would be mad not to.

Daniel kerr fit and firing is a class above any tiger midfielder. A good example on the field to show our young guns how hard to go for the ball and man. Hard and tough. Like everyone else, I don't want to give up the farm but if we can swing it......

Spot on.

Don't you think we would be better off finacially to develop our own young midfeilders, than chase someone that is way too far overpriced. I say leave him where he is we don't need trouble at home now that we are getting stronger.

and keep Polo too. He has had a tough apprenticeship but will a top midfielder imo

Im not fused if Polo goes, but wasnt that an awsome bit of work yesterday when being gang tackled and crushed in very heavy traffic, with brute strength got his hand with ball up over his head and slammed it onto his boot for an effective kick. Its stuff like that, that shows he has what it takes.

If Polo was givin more chanses in the afl. he would stand up no doubt.
I don't think we should go fr Kerr. it'll be just too much to give up.

have faith in the draft

I certainly hope we make a big play for him. Our list is stacked with youngsters who will be around for the next 10 years so we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by getting him. We have drafted pretty well the last couple of years so no early picks this year wont harm us.
GO GET HIM TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing to lose? Our 1st pick in the draft, our 2nd pick in the draft and a player. That is not losing nothing.

Tell your mate that magic mushrooms are not good for him.

I do want that to be true though.
Ive got half a chub thinking about Kerr at punt rd!

I like the thought of Kerr in a Richmond jumper too, however who wouldn't it is just about at what cost?

I think Lidzycheif is taking the piss but if you took note of Cotchins speech at the NAB RS saying Kerr and Watson were the hardest which taught him the most. If he can learn so much from purely just playing on him then imagine the effect when he would be training with him.

Kerr is a premier clearance player no doubt but I think we have little chance of landing this big fish

Cotch basically said he learnt a lot because he got smashed that day by Watson and he mentioned how he needed to change his positioning.

Think this is due for a bit of a bump now that two of the big boys have basically said No to Tigerland.

Warnock and Griffen, both of the ruckmen we were interested in look set to nominate Carlton and one of Freo/West Coast as we speak.

Could we possibly be involved with Adelaide in a three way trade with West Coast to nab Kerr?

What about this;

Richmond trade Schulz to Adelaide for a late second rounder. We then use our Pick 8 and Adelaide's second rounder to West Coast for Kerr. Adelaide trade Griffen for one of West Coast's second rounders. That way;

Weagles gain: Griffen, Pick 8 and Second round Draft pick.
Crows gain: Schulz, Second round Draft pick.
We gain: Kerr

Thoughts?

Well

If WCE gained Griffen, then Seaby must be shipped off, so you need to factor in what we would get for that. Also depends on which second round pick we'd have to let go of. I'd rather Seaby for Griffen straight swap rather then letting go of our second rounder.

Plausable if it seems highly likey that Melb will not grab Rich at Pick 1. Then it comes down to who we would expect to grab at pick 8, any sure fire ball winners in there?

Other than that a pretty good attempt.

How about this instead? Kerr for pick 8 & Rance? We would then also offload Hunter somewhere else as well.

Well a few sides would offer for Seaby, you might get a second rounder for that. Which would mean you would have Pick 8, and two second rounders from other clubs, not taking into account your own draft picks.

Im not sure what the fascination is with Rance, since he hasnt even played a game for us yet, but i dont know if the club would trade him for that very reason.

To be honest, i think you guys would want more than Pick 8 and Rance. If we get involved with Adelaide, i think we have a better chance of pleasing all parties, and giving you guys specifically what you want.

Maybe trade directly with Adelaide. Schulz for Griffen.
That way if we dont get over the line with the Kerr part of the deal with West Coast we still keep Griffen. If he will come of course.

Highly rated

There's the destiny / romantic / fell good side of it. His spiritual home belongs at WCE. He needs to fill his destiny in honouring his father, whom played for WCE.
