When buying games overseas, how much is the conversion rate that the bank are charging if you buy them?

Whatever the exchange rate for that day is. "The bank" has nothing to do with it and is not charging you.

So for something listed in $USD, currently $1 USD = $1.25 AUD. A couple of months ago it was at $1.55. Before the bubble burst last year it was a great time to buy stuff overseas as the AUD was close to the USD.

If you want to save $10 for call of duty 4 then JB hifi will be selling it at that price next week... one of my friends works there & she mentioned a heap of games they will be selling for $49

The only thing with that is that the language says "English, French, German", so what the hell does that mean?

I did get my copy of Orange Box from PlayAsia actually, but it was the 'Asia' version which stated just English language so I knew it was safe, but that 3 languages is weird.Postage is usually about $6 or so, not too bad.

I know you're not here to respond, but.

English German French means you can select the language you want it to play in......would have thought that was self explanatory????

You know when you look on the back of a dvd and it states the multiple languages you can select?

And the standard postage is $3.80 from playasia.

I've bought heaps of things from P-A they are all genuine and it's an excellent site to use

I've used this seller a fair few times and can vouch for good service. I've got MKvsDC on PS3, but felt inclined at $30 to buy a 360 copy to be able to vs my mates only with 360.

Overheads? A shop needs to pay for overheads, an online store doesn't (well, not as many at least)

But, having said that, there are stacks of bargains to be had in store.

JB usually have pretty good prices in store on MOST games, particularly new released. EB also have some killer sales and 2 for $50 deals etc.

Just gotta look in the right places.

I, for example, wouldn't buy a new release from EB, being that their pricing is generally higher than say JB for a new release, but I would shop there when they were having a 2 for $50 sale.

Most of the time these days, though, I buy online

Look, I was sceptical about MKvsDC when it was being released, because I hadn't liked a MK since # 1 and # 2.

I liked the raw brutality from the early ones, and this seemed to be dulled down a lot.

And....it is, but it's actually quite fun.

It's got great character animations, the graphics are sweet, the gameplay is fluid.

It's not truly a MK title in my opinion, but fun none the less.

It has some great features (like close combat), and is overall a pretty good game.

But, that's my opinion, others may hate it.

Either way, for me $30 is a no brainer (I saw it a JB later that day I'd bought it for $114)

Ummmm....I think you mean the fatalaties have been toned down.

FIFA 09 is $50 brand new at Jb Hi-Fi, not sure if it was a mistake or not since it's not listed online but I snapped it up even if it's only 4 or so months from FIFA10 since I usually enjoy PES more.

Best I've seen at the moment for Gears of War 2 is the limited edition at my local EB for $60. I;m not usually into limited editions but Gears would be a good one to have imo.

Also seen Far Cry 2 for 360 for $40 with free postage on ebay.

Picked up Motorstorm Pacific Rift for $40 at my local k-mart. Price tag said 60, but it scanned through as 40. Don't know if that will be the same at other k-marts, but could be worth a try maybe?
