Harvey Norman have a sale with up to 75% off games for today only (until midnight).

Probably depends on your local store how good the deals are. I just got back from mine and they had heaps of games with 75% off, however they were all pretty much 75% off selected $110-$120 games.

Some other stores seem to have cheaper ones...

Titles may include:
Resistance 2 - $13
The Orange Box - $25
Prince of Persia - $12.50
ABBA Singstar - $12.50
ABBA Singstar With Wired Mics - $25
GH:WT - Aerosmith -$15

Update from Whirlpool

Balgowlah store

360 Games:
Halo 3 - $20
Saint Row 2 - $20
Scene it with 4 controllers - $40,
Lips with 2 mics - $30
We’re in Movie with Live Vision - $30

PS3 Games:
Street Fighter 4 limited edition with 2 figures - $37
Resident Evil 5 – $30
Silent Hill: Homecoming - $30

Nunawading Store

Devil May Cry 4 – $17.50
Dark Sector – $7.49
Fear – $12.99
Dead Space – $19.99
Full Auto : Battlelines 2 – $14.99
Conan – $19.99
Brothers in Arms : Hells Highway – $12.49
Resistance 1 – $12.49

Best at my store were Infamous and Red Faction both 75% off $110 ($27.50). Pretty annoying with Infamous being $110 seeing as they had many copies of the Platinum version there for $50 without a discount. I only looked at PS3 though, and didn't pay much attention to games I already had (RE5 etc). Were hoping to find some $7-$15 games. Newer ones like MW2 or Batman weren't discounted.

I bought inFAMOUS at GAME for $40 today. I got them to price match K-Mart who were selling it at that price. Pretty happy with that one as I wanted this game a few months ago but held off.

Also picked up Borderlands for $75 which is the cheapest I've seen it.

I was hoping to get Uncharted 2 around the 80 mark that I saw it about a week ago. Unfortunately it was selling for $100 everywhere and MW2 $108-119.

All in all, a good day.

:)

I got Arkham Asylum for $48 at GAME.. best buy I have ever had.. cheapest I have seen it is $90

WHA?!

WHere?

at GAME in Western Australia... town called Mandurah.. its an hour south of perth. was the last copy there, no idea if other Game stores are selling it at that price or if it was someone putting the wrong sale price on it.

I am thinking the latter.

It is the same price @ GAME stores Australia wide :thumbsu:, i think the last few weeks it was $69 - $79..... all retail stores are going beserk on the hunt for our dollars.

When it gets to this time of year, it does make me wish i held off on SOME games and pick them up between the christmas / new year sale period. However in 07 & 08, there weren't as many good deals as there were in 2006 (that year was awesome - probably because there weren't as many Xbox360 games around :p - thus the majority were either 25 - 50% off).

Most of the games that are on sale, i purchased around the time of their release not RRP - i'll buy them when they are @ their introductory release price.... which tends to be $10 - $30 lower than their standard price (ie: whatever EB tend to charge straight up ).

My local Harvey Norman has been a good place to get games from in recent months, as i've said in previous threads.... they love competing and beating other stores prices. Quite often they'll already have set the price.... either $1 - $30 cheaper than JB Hifi's "cheapest" prices.

The main "on sale" game that i purchased over the last few weeks was Borderlands - and that was only $4 cheaper than the standard JB Hifi price (i paid $75).

Despite already owning the 360 version, i picked up UFC Undisputed 2009 (ps3) for $37 a few weeks ago. It was only a few $ cheaper than Big W's price ($39), but i was pleased that i scored it cheaper than JB Hifhi ($44) or EB's laughable $55 :D :thumbsu:.

Aside from that, over the last month i've collected the new release games as they've come out. I got MW 2, for under $60 (a store was competing with another, so it was already low.... but i used a gift voucher to make it lower). Band Hero was another that i purchased for $65 - i thought it was a win, against JB Hifi's $79 and the rrp of $89. I also purchased the PS3 version a few weeks back, again it evened out (i basically paid slightly more than the standard for a single copy RRP $119.95 - effectively 2 games for $60 each :p).

Ghostbusters was another good buy, JB Hifi had it for $79, the rrp was $89.95. I paid $67 - in saying that, with JB Hifi's current software sale... they game is now $58.... DOH!

Other than that there were a few others like Lego Rockband - purchased it @ $67... while JB Hifi had it for $79 and the rrp was $89.95.

I havn't played it on the 360 for awhile, but i'm keen on getting NBA 2K10 for the ps3 - can get it for $75 from GAME....... i have a voucher that i can use, which would take it to $40 :p.

Steam has a killer sale on for the next ~38 hours.

Operation Flashpoint - $19.99
S.T.A.L.K.E.R - $1.49
Defense Grid - $2.49
Mirror's Edge - $4.99
GTAIV - $7.49

Indigo Prophecy is $3.39
Braid is $2.49

Bought both of them. I'm hoping that IP is good but i'm going in with low expectations...

Damn it. When I try and search for it, it says it's not available in my region!!
What do you mean?

What do you have your region set as?

Has Deus Ex withstood the test of time? I've never played it but I constantly see people rating it as one of the best games ever.

So many cheap games... so little PayPal funds... :(

I just bought 26 games from steam lol :o

edit: Steam is one of the reasons I love PC gaming. You can save so much money compared to relying on retail outlets to rip you off. Those 26 games would have set me back probably $1500 or more if I bought them from EB or Game. Instead, I spent $120:thumbsu:

What games did you get?

Man, spewing I've seen this, I can see myself buying a few as well. Never bought a game through steam before.

My ISP has unmetered steam downloads and I worked out it would cost me more to download pirated versions of some of those games. For Mirror's Edge to download 5.8GB, it works out to about $1.50 per 1GB with my ISP metered, so $8.70 pirated, or I can pay $5 for a legit version and download it unmetered.

Got it on PS3 already, but gonna have to get GTAIV for sure.

That Eidos pack is very tempting.

Nice selection man. Saints Rows 2 is great fun. :thumbsu:

Hey can I ask you guys a bit of n00b question - I signed up for steam a while ago, and never used it, other than to get some free Half Life thing, but when logged in now I see everything as US prices - is this how it's meant to be? You guys seem to be talking US dollars, and I can select Internode NSW as my download region - is this where you change you region to see more US games which aren't in Australia, or am I already in the US region? (or have I got my self confused an don't know what I'm talking about?)
