Atmosphere was great for three quarters.

It'd be great to see us as supporters more involved like that on a regular basis. From personal experience we are one of the most subdued supporter bases.
To be fair our team was despondent in the final quarter and makes it difficult to enlighten as we all know what's ahead but as we remain in the game it will be electric. We may not be the "loudest" but we have passion and soul, our hearts are searching for that one day in September to let it all out. (This is my dream)

Absolutely, we have a conservative supporter base who don't like to join in or provide noise, yet think that somehow the cheer squad with 100 people can magically fill the stadium with noise. Does my head in the amount of criticism our fans direct at us, yet when you see them at the game they're quiet as a mouse.

That kind of thing can be infectious. If you look like you're having loads of fun, pretty soon more people will want to be part of it.

The cheer squad only increases when finals are on and people wanna guaranteed GF ticket.

I was at the game on Saturday......big Saints crowd there....the atmosphere was awesome.

I was exploring the ground and just happened to walk down the "tunnel" and see/read the banner just before the players ran out.

Absolutely sensational wording on the banner.

It was very cheeky and very witty.

Great job...congrats to all.

According to Caro on Footy Classified last night the club has advised all future banners are to be vetted by the media department at the club. This was after Richo expressed being a little uncomfortable in an interview with 3AW and allegedly asked the footy manager if the banners are vetted. To their credit the Footy Classified panel thought it was a great banner and Caro said she hoped it wasn't the case as it was a good banner and hopes to see more of them.

Hopefully this doesn't mean that the Cheer Squad is now censured by the club. Any thoughts?

Really... time for people to get a sense of humour and, credit to FC, they did think it was funny.
It was completely factual and quite polite to say thanks really ;)

Could anybody really be offended by the banner.
It was a classic banner, a praise of our club ( the Jacks) and a cheeky dig at the opposition.

The Banners of clubs have become increasingly dull over the years. Danny McLinley @ the Bulldogs started the trend back to the cheeky banner.
It is all good fun and a unique part of our sport.
Anything offensive should not occur, but wit, humour and unoffensive cheek should be encouraged not bloody vetted.

Amazing isn't it.....I look at the news every morn and theres war and starvation and warnings about graphic images along with pics of Jennifer Lopez and some Kardashian idiot wearing sfa for everyone to see, including children......yet banners need to be vetoed incase they might offend

Get ****ed political correctness

I am confused as to why so much attention has been made of this week's banner, it wasn't negative, I feel our round one banner was more edgy than it (referencing Trump and the fact they hadnt beaten us since Pres. Bush, that backfired).

We simply highlighted that we have their first pick, now I am worried what we have managed to achieve with witty sayings won't continue due to the vetting requirements.

On that note if anyone has any banner saying suggestions please feel free to post them here (and I will pass them on), dm me (and I will pass them on) or the Saints Cheer Squad facebook page relevant posts.

Ask Richo, he seems to be the only one publicly to have an issue with it.

Couldnt agree more. The Dogs banner Friday night took a swipe at a whole city and noone seems to have complained.

Stupid move by Richo. He backed the club into a corner and now the club has come out and said it's going to vet the banners, which means they can't play dumb if something a little edgy is on the banner and therefore the whole thing becomes risk averse.

My commiserations to you guys in the CS. Doing a great job.

Hey just wondering where the cheer squad got the writing and numbers printed on the warm up tops from? Can see them on tv and Even though our boys don't have names or numbers on theirs, they look fantastic!
The club provided them

You guys!

Take a bow, you are magnificent at the moment. Showing our club to be passionate unique and fun. You are a shot in the arm for our club. Keep going you good things!
Thanks so much, it really has been a great year so far, loving the positive vibes that the cheer squad has had all season.

So excited to be apart of the cheer squad and I encourage anyone thinking of joining the cheer squad to sign up, it is definitely worth it.

So you guys took all the smalls haha! I wonder if it would be worth asking if I could get one personalized? What do you think? Also that automated pre recorded chant of the song lyrics slowed down must be working, had a neutral observer say "listen to the crowd sing the song" after the game
