Cheer Squad thread

It would be great if the CS did some vignettes of meet your cheer squad over the summer break to bring up some interest. I know the club is reviewing membership options, especially since the new deal has made things a lot more profitable now.

The "Goal Zone" membership ( in my humble opinion) has been a great initiative from the club. The whole area has such a great vibe during matches! Mark my words; this area WILL become a VERY popular spot to barrack from, in coming seasons!

Cheers mate, we have a new policy that we get louder as much as we can, even when they have kicked a goal, we like to be the noise the crowd and more importantly our boys hear next. The message is "Don't give up, we haven't and we are here to support you...always!"

What a great, positive policy that is! It came into its own at Adelaide Oval in round 19!

Essendon just had a "round of applause" for jobe Watson at the 4th min of the 4th qtr. Perhaps the cheersquad/club can do something similar for Roo at his last home game?

Another great job yesterday CS.....we were in the forward flank,southern side........Rich station end and could hear you loud and clear.

We could clearly tell when a running goal or snap had been kicked as the mass of colour would rise very quickly.

Thanks for posting it....hadn't noticed it on any other threads.

That was circa 1986......I can only say that as the 1986 membership tic has the 21st logo on it.
I have all my previous membership tics in a frame......and yes...I am having therapy !

The memories came flooding back.....we were in the shit financially......again.....and they had numerous fund raisers during 1986.

I remember going to a silent auction in the Social Club after work one night.

I was lucky enough with one of my bids to snag a copy of the 1966 Herald from the Monday after we won the flag....and scored a cheapo Saints plaque.

I can only assume that the song was done as part of the fundraising.
