How long does it take the average newbie to get these down pat?

Having had the "pleasure" of sitting behind the cheer squad all last season at Simonds, that's pretty much all they've got, although they do have an alternate version of the bolded chant. Instead of having someone yell out "What does it spell?" before they go to the "Geelong clap, clap, clap, Geelong clap, clap, clap" portion of the chant, in the middle of the last term when it's pretty much guaranteed we'll win, they change it to "Who's winning the footy?"

Brilliant stuff.

I am told the cheer squad cut their repertoire down to one chant because the newbies were confusingly mixing the other chants up

Talk to Paul "Teach" Kellett.
He shall reveal all.

Here's some completely irrelevant trivia - I've been deleted, added, deleted, added, deleted by Teach's offsider on the left - quite an honour ;)

Just to clarify,it ain't our Catman who posts here ;)
No, not BF Catman - Geelong Cats ChSq Catman - Troy West - son of Roy West - 1963 Premiership team

Finals included???!!??
How much per year?
If that is finals (and presuming GF) then screw it, I'm in!
Plus the cost of a Geelong Full membership and you get a 15% discount at the Cats Shop!

No.
But I AM prepared to pay 5 bucks per game, look where the cheer squad is sitting and go find an empty seat elsewhere to sit :p
Or stand.
Which is exactly what quite a few people do! Although, I think you do have to perform some ChSq duties to be in the ChSq and I think it also costs $25 to join the ChSq. But hey, just pop down, give Teach a pat on the back, shout a few Oi, Oi, Oi's, wave and flag, which is supplied and then piss off from Q2 lol Or do what a guy I know of does, sits in the back row of the ChSq and pretends he doesn't know them lol

That guy is actually a serious worry.
You mean Teach?

Here is a little tit-bit for you to enjoy ;)

Diehard Cats fan told to shut-up for barracking too loud'

ChSq - Teach - Paul Kellett.jpg

"A CATS supporter has been told to shut-up after barracking too loud at a football match.
Paul `Teach' Kellett had been cheering on his team at a VFL game between Geelong and Williamstown on Sunday when he said a security guard approached him and told him he had to stop.

``We were barracking away, banging on the fence like normal,'' he said. ``It's not as if we were at the opera and you have to listen.''

Please tell me they don't call this zubrick "Teach" because he's a teacher.
Fred, if you had made the effort to watch The rabbi's video, you would know he IS a teacher!!
At Newcomb Secondary College!
"Mr Kellett is one of the chant leaders for the Cats cheer squad and has been banging on fences and chanting at the football for 18 years."

He has an official title too - Chant Leader!
