I noticed how a large number of the Irish crowd cheered the Aussies on their victory lap. Now I don't think they would extend that to an english side (I don't think they are allowed by law to play at croke park) but I thought it was a great display of sportsmanship and a rare thing these days.

Can anyone remember a mamorable game whn this happened. I seem to recall we never cheered Iran when they 'stole' our world cup place.

I do recall seeing on telly (in 1994 I think) a much maligned footy park crowd cheering the Hawks off after a particularly good performance when they last thrashed the crows

Any experiences to share, anyone ?

Pess, I can tell you this, nobody cheered the Iranians off the MCG because everyone was in total shock. I've never seen so many tears in one place, the most gutted I have ever felt in my life at a sporting contest.

I did'nt think the crowd was being ungracious just totally shattered.
