Hasn't he signed a multiple season loan though? Don't think Monchengladbach would be willing to let him go this early if thats the case considering he's been killing it.

Mabye a short term experienced CB for a few seasons to partner Zouma then bring back Christensen.

On a different note, how about that save from Courtois this morning against Herrera. Fantastic

Just saw someone mention this on FB. From next season should our CBs be Zouma and Christensen? He's been killing it for Monchengladbach. Would be like a free transfer.
Is he fast ? It's critical for us to be able to replace Terry/Cahill/Ivanovic with real leg speed and athleticism. This will allow for a more expansive/daring playing style without being terrified of getting caught out on the counter attack.

I still want Stones. He's an animal already, he's PL proven, he's a future leader and he's English. He would be worth every penny it costs to get him across. Stones and Zouma would be our CBs for the next decade.

I can see City (always proactive in the transfer window) snapping him up now that Kompany is just about cooked.

Just as I suspected all along! The majority of the blame lies squarely on the players. I think Hiddink is just starting to realise how poor this team is and he'll have his work cut out to get them up to an acceptable and decent level. This is why sacking the best manager we ever had was an absurdity and the board gave the players a second and final chance to redeem ourselves.

We may improve slightly as Hiddink gains a greater understanding of the team's strengths and weaknesses and we may even sneak a top half spot, but this team is finished for the long-term! Expect a massive summer clear out because historically not much transfer activity occurs in January apart from the occasional movement or two but not enough to overhaul this squad to the liking of most.

Manchester United are a poor side and probably at their worst in over 20 years yet we made them look like world beaters especially in the first half so I can't take a lot of positives out of this game apart from an improvement in the second half and the fact we somehow kept a clean sheet and didn't lose.

Crystal Palace will be a tougher proposition for us.

I really dont think this team/squad is as bad as you're making out (José deserves as much of the blame with the way we have imploded this season) and TBH its probably not as strong as it was a couple of seasons back mainly because of Joses man management.

You could tell from the end of last season that he was seriously burning out his 'favourite 11' and a lack of rotation plus his effort of sending some fine players packing (Lukaku, KDB, Schurrle, Mata, Bertrand, Luis etc) was coming back to bite us bad.

Hopefully the next guy we get in can work on the same page as Emenalo/Roman and work with the abundance of great youth we have coming through as our academy and loan system is second to none. We just need to find someone who knows how to use it.

As great as a manager Jose is, he's never going to be a long term solution. Yes he'll come in and win you trophies but he'll also tear the place apart and go out in a blaze of glory. It's just his way.

Port Adelaide, West Adelaide SANFL,
Just watching the replay, I think Mikel and Fab are perfect partners for the pivot. They showed extremely good chemistry together and I think it'll continue to happen as Hiddink seems to trust Mikel.

Shame for Matic though.

Anyone else reckon Hazard will piss off in the summer now that his boyhood hero is running the show at Real Madrid?

I would love to see them appoint Jose, we wouldn't have to ever worry about losing any of our players to them.
