Anyone had any experience with these cars? What are they like to drive? Economy, spare parts etc. Just saw an ad with a SUV for 17 grand. Seems a bit too good to be true.

The doors and panels look and feel like they're made from aluminum foil. You would better hope you don't crash it.

Never driven one but they look cheap and nasty on the outside and probably are.

I imagine they will serve the same apprenticeship as Jap cars, Korean cars etc.

Start off terrible in most if not all aspects, move up to questionable reliability and dull style but cheap, then progress to a respected position of quality and value for money, then (potentially, the Koreans aren't there yet) become market leader.

Chery = Coffin on wheels

Terrible safety standards. They've had issues with asbestos, received 0 out of 5 stars in some reviews, had cars banned in some states, the rap list goes on.

Like most things in life you get what you pay for. Personally I'd be spending a bit more for a safer car.
