This is the spot on the ground that kills us the most week in week out. No one is anywhere near dangerous enough to be that hit up player.

We will keep failing until this part of our team is fixed. We need that nick riewoldt / Travis cloke type CHF, that or vickers needs to get his act together very quickly once he returns..

So frustrated right now.

All games we were in GREAT positions to win at one stage or another but failed due to our lack of marking ability across CHF.

Miller isn't the answer. Elton might be - but not for at least another 3-4 years based on today performance.

Post is no good, and Astbury is probably more suited to defence. Vickery is in poor form but looks best out of the square.

Give McGuane a chance at it and see how he goes imo.

Gee doesn't that list of names just fill us with confidence.. I agree with you though, try mcguane.

Thing is though this position has been a massive issue for years and we haven't addressed it. Should of been trying to bring in a solid CHF years ago!

You saw how long it took us to find a Ruck, not expecting this to be any different.

Riewoldt is being killed every week because the opposition puts 3 KPDs on him at every contest. Miller simply isn't a threat and Adelaide would have just laughed at Elton. Vickery is the key to our fortunes for the time being, which is mighty unfortunate on current form.

Bingo

I agree. It just seemed that when we could link through CHF everything looked better. Otherwise it was just long bombs into a crowded forward line with no room for Jack to run at the ball carrier.

Griff and his 60m kick might have been an option. It would have at least kept a defender out of Jack's way.

I still think Griff is our best hope at CHF. Dont like him as a defender.
I agree. I think he should play defence until Astbury (or preferably Moore) can get back into the team, and then use the experience playing on key forwards to become one himself. He would make the ideal high half forward to compliment Jack and an in-form Vickers

lads, moore is done, might be playing now but he wont have long left, we need to look else where, degenerative changes in both hips is bad sign for a 60 to 70 year old person, let alone someone under 30

vickery needs to come back playing 2 prong out of the square with jack, griffiths should be there but isnt, is wasted getting little switch kicks in the back half. T cloke perhaps? would be hard to land though with our emerging top 5-6 players salaries.

needs a good look at post season

Spot on its been an issue for a while. Griff is the only one that can possible fill the role. Vickery is a deep forward and a third tall. Need to make it a priority,

Forward: Riewoldt, Vickery, Griffths
Heights: 195, 200, 198
Defence: Astbury, Grimes, Rance
Heights: 195, 193, 194

Plenty of potential to dominate

Things won't change while we play "dumb" footy, sheesh we have all our eggs in one basket kicking to JR while he is triple teamed. What were miller and Elton doing while jack was surrounded? They should be commanding the pill and our mids need to be smart enough to see the options. Mcfumbles and Vicks won't be any different unless our runners look before pulling the trigger.
