This is just the beginning. This is rife in this shithole of a country.

Add to that the one time we hear about this - a human rights activist approached by a black van in public while ordering food - two men in black step out and beat him, breaking his legs and arms. This happens all the time, we just hear about it once every so often.

How the **** are the Olympics supposed to be held in this disgusting shitheap? Beijing is one of the most polluted places on Earth (athletes developed respiratory issues shortly after arriving) and they do nothing about global issues like global warming, let alone introduce the right to vote, animal cruelty laws (NO animal welfare laws) and human rights, instead they spend their time stockpiling nuclear arms and telling everyone how great the Government is, killing anyone who says otherwise.

Nuke the ****ing place now

Re: F**k China

Yes, because nuking them will solve all our problems.

A social revolution is what China really needs.

Re: F**k China

And nuking China would be so much more humane.

"But the cruelty of Badaling doesn't stop with animals apart. For those who can still stomach it, the zoo has numerous traumatised animals to gawp at.

A pair of endangered moon bears with rusting steel nose rings are chained up in cages so small that they cannot even turn around.

One has clearly gone mad and spends most of its time shaking its head and bashing into the walls of its prison.

There are numerous other creatures, including tigers, which also appear to have been driven insane by captivity. Predictably, they are kept in cramped, filthy conditions. "

I went to a zoo in South Korea that was like this. I was in tears by the time I left.

Re: F**k China

The worst thing we ever did was give them the Olympics.
The human and animal abuse will be kept secret behind the scenes so no one will see it, and everything will think China is a normal place.

Nothing will ever be done because people will remember seeing China as normal during the Olympics, and not realise what it is really like.

Re: F**k China

The worst part about all this is that children and families laugh, clap, cheer and join in (and are very much encouraged to do so). I read another article where chained bears were forced to pose with children for photos, many of them the bears chained to the ground with children on their backs.

This is as much child abuse as it is animal abuse. This is a 'society' where children think that this is normal! The cycle continues.

Agreed Ron, the single worst move regarding China was to give them the Olympics.

P.S I was pretty fired up at the time of writing - hence the nuke comments

Re: F**k China

So where are all the greenpeace people now?

Not as glamorous as trollin for whales. Deadsh!ts:thumbsd:

Thats hardly fair. There are plenty of people/organisations around the word rescuing suffering animals from this kind of thing. It`s the media that chooses the juicy stories.

Trolling whaling vessels will result in pissing off the boat crews and far away Japanese authorities.

Trolling in China will, at best, result in a prison setence, at worst, dissapearing mysteriously and never being seen again...

You might want to know what you're talking about before you make anymore comments in this thread.

Re: F**k China

Far too many people are blindsided by China's economic miracle and fail to look at the backward society that functions underneath.

The Olympics is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, the much larger problem is that the west has fallen in love with cheap Chinese merchandise, and China knows it. We will simply refuse to vote with our dollars and these poor animals will continue to be tortured.

It is a terribly sad situation.

Re: F**k China

Ugh, I've been to one of those Chinese "animal markets". Let me just say, I have little respect for a society that thinks it's ok to skin animals alive before they are either boiled or grilled - still alive.

And even worse, apparently they don't have civil rights there. The best we can hope for is change, and that starts with angry masses. China does have it's beauty, especially in natural areas; but its darker side is the reason I'd never live there.

Re: F**k China

The Chinese have always been isolationlist, the West agressive in it's imperialism. Not so long ago India and China had 70% of world trade. Now the U.S. has 65% with less than 5% of the world's population. Their will be a fundamental shift back to equilibrium. Maybe 50/50. But then again the U.S. militarily may use it's power to continue its Roman empire. As far as China is undemocratic, so is the U.S. with only a minority voting and corrupted by the industrial military complex. It's interesting to note that irrespective of who wins the U.S. presidential race the war will still continue. America has been continually at war since 1940. As for the current war guess who is financing it for Uncle Sam, China! No point in taking sides here.

It seems o.k. to condemn animal cruelty but it's ok to accept cruelty inflicted by one human on another. Wake up! The U.S. has done the same to it's foes as has been done by the opposition. If you want to spout about ecology and take your brains out of their comfort zones then do it in your local area. Worry about the indigenous flora and fauna here in this country. But perhaps that's all too hard. Let's talk about somewhere else. Ignoring our hypocrisy in our own back yard. Forget about overseas, let's start caring for the Auistralian environment. We are all guilty of the cruelty we have caused here.

This thread is about China.

If you want to discuss Australia's own track record, I'd suggest starting a new thread.

Thank you BDF for your censorship but I don't think anyone would be as churlish as preventing criticism. Matter of fact I believe in this country freedom of speech is still permissable. The thing that really annoys me is that we have so much to do in this country on the ecological front before we can start approaching the problems of other countries. It may seem shocking to the naive posters here but China is gone as far as any ecology goes. They have already destroyed or are in the process of wiping out their natural heritage. Whilst some people divert their attention to this they are ignoring the serious problems here in Aus. What a waste. Lets save our anger for this country, and hopefully it will have some effect.

Re: F**k China

China is a disgrace. We need a revolution to happen there. However if that happens, bam up goes the price of everything. Almost everything is made in China. One thing that scares me is after WW2 Australia decieded it needed its own industries in time of war.

What happens if there is a war now, and china is not on our side. With Industry everywhere closing down, we would be a lame duck.

1,300,000,000 people with the largest industrial might in the world.

And you know who has all the coal, gas and raw materials.

We would be '****ed'

Re: F**k China

Off topic, but I'm two weeks into seven weeks or work experience at a uni in Nanjing, very interesting city as a whole. The place is huge, the nightlife is awesome (excellent for a student like me) as is the shopping. Also a lot of interesting sightseeing attractions. Definitely a great place to visit. If you don't like being in a tourist infested area Nanjing is ideal too as I have found f*ck all foreigners (non-Chinese) here.

It really is a different place, but it all seems like a bit of a communist bash about in here. I'm not about to go through and pick at every thing that you have said...so will limit myself to one, and explain how little idea you have. Now in the fair minded country of Australia, we have approximately 21 million people, yet in the Howard years we wouldn't sign Kyoto, we are a western country ffs, and then such a simple situation as plastic bag usage we have no such legislation that requires all plastic bag use to be abolished. What country has such legislation, that's right, China. 1,300,000,000 people and they can introduce a scheme such as this, all within a 6 month period. China is the worlds most dominant power, any decision they make can cripple or destroy the world. Get a grip on reality and realise that although China is in many ways stuck in the 18th century, since the death of Mao, its leave us the **** alone to do what we want strategy has been broken down and much more in a state that we should never have to fear or look down on.

Despite your ridiculous posts regarding North Melbourne in other threads, I have to say that a lot of what you post outside of football makes a great deal of sense. Good post.
