Yeh im totaly over it now.....Just wish there was somthing on TV i can get interested in as much as footy....Might have to go back to my old summer past time.....Horse betting :eek:
 
I love a punt but to be honest the Spring Carnival gives me the shits, because everyone becomes an instant expert on horses and punting. Spose it happens with every sport, but it just annoys me. Same with the whole draft thing - it's like people think this only happens for a week each year, when it's happening all year round.

yeh i know what your saying....heaps of my mates are getting the suits outs.....and chasing up a few girls for the races.... I ****ing hate that shit....If a ticket fell into my lap i MIGHT go...but **** it...i hate that Fake as hell days out...... would rather stay here at home....and give myself a mexican backhander....

Me too. And I haven't even read last Sunday's papers yet (that'll be done tomorrow).

I was just at a mates place, and I'm walking down the corridor and what is looking back up at me? ****ing Sundays Herald Sun. Kicked it down the stairs.

Unlike you I went the 'attack it head on' option - bad call. Even now they are replaying the game on Foxtel, and the ads for the DVD aren't helping either.

I decided to grow a beard throughout my mourning process (a very bad one by the way), I think I will shave it tomorrow to see if that helps. I'm a very symbolic man...

Actually I'm probably the type of person you're talking about, but I find that I'd rather watch footy/cricket than racing during the rest of the year. Spring Carnival is when I get into racing because there's more opportunity to actually go to the races, and there's more media coverage of it.
Occasionally I'll chuck on Sky channel but it's always boring races at Eagle Farm and I don't know any of the horses...

Actually, I got on Cats Whisker the night before the grand final as a bit of an omen bet (SJ like you mentioned, I think things that I do will effect how we play, ie. I never drink the night before a game), and it ran 3rd..

Last spring I missed a quaddie which would have paid me 10k (cost 100) by a nose in the last race. Was FUMING.
