Just watched karate kid.
What a great movie. 7/10 - 4/10 for being original but being in china helped it.
Wil Smiths kid is a star. Can he act or what? Not sure I've sen a better child actor.

Lol, sorry I had no idea what you were talking about...

Get to the police station,

L: "Hi, I'd like to enquire about getting a police clearance."
P: "Yes, you have to go to an Australia Post outlet."
L: "Really?"
P: "Yes, really."
L: *facepalm*
LMFAO- you're joking right. DAM IT wish i had seen that, LOL hope the cops laughed at you LOL. Of course you need to go to the Post Office to do that- you go there to do Working with Children checks, um.. passports... all that stuff. HAHA. :D

Pfft, screw singing in the rain.

They should do the "Blues Brothers". Now THAT is a musical that doesnt suck and blow at the same time.

That and Grease and Chicago.

I did. Parents and the guy who I'll be working for said all I had to do was go to the local cop shop.

Only in Australia do you need to get a police clearance from the post office.
If you had asked in here, I would have set you straight. :thumbsu:

Did you need an appointment???? WWCC you need a ****ing appointment, it can be a pain. in. the. ARSE.

Man... i even had the wrong home address on my drivers license, i literally had to go to VIC Roads (luckily wasnt too far from the post office) get it changed, then go back to the post office.

Nah, no appointment. Had to line-up, get the right form, fill it out at the back of the shop, line-up again and then sign and date it. They then send it off and I am supposed to get something in the mail within 7 to 10 days.

Not sure when I'll be starting now, looking likely that it'll be the middle of next week but might be the week after depending on how long this clearance takes to get to me.

Entirely different but related note. My brother got rolled by Bali customs over his passport yesterday. They took him to an interview room and said since his passport expires in less than 6 months (5 months 3 weeks) it would cost $500USD to get into the country. He refused and flew back home.

Nothing screams dodgey bribe like specifying US dollars.

I would not have posted this story on a public forum :D

Police check is a ride in the park.

edit; don't know why I posted like that, I sound like a knob.

What I meant to say is they aren't going to get much info out of the police.

A mate of mine entered Vietnam for work.
2 days later immigration came to get him.

The problem was that the vietnamese embassy had completed his visa incorrectly. His arrival and departure dates were the wrong way around.

His boss gave them US2k.

They took it.

and still kicked him out :)

I've had a huntsman run along the inside of the windscreen.
Freaked me at first. There's something about 8 legs moving so quick.
But huntsman don't both me (other than the leg thing) :p

Well at least you didnt need an appointment then. :thumbsu:

How much did it cost out of curiousity??? And was it a state or federal check???
$53.70. And it was a Federal one.
