Now the only important question is what theme parks to go to. Would love to go Superman again, so Movie World gets my vote. :thumbsu:

Does anyone want to buy a ham for me?

Just received an email that the Joselito Coleccion Premium 2005 Jamon has come into oz.
Only 55 made for the world.

Wholesale price is $2950 *cough*

I'll be your buddy if you do.

We're going to find out which place in Melbourne buys one so we can go check it out.

What else is there to visit, I'm not into theme parks?
Omg, so glad BDP doesnt post no more, he would be in here talking about "fish fingers" if he was.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, the night tour is awesome. The animals are like awake and doing stuff, instead of sleeping, you get up close to Koalas, Kangaroos, etc etc.

I dunno what else tbh tho- Gold Coast = Theme Parks and nothing else for me. :D

ha ha. Yup. Have you never had Jamon? I don't know if you drive from the city to get home but you need to do your self a favour and call into casa iberica on johnson street, Fitzroy. Buy a dozen slices of the cheapest one they have. It's Australian though. ABout $75 per kg. Lovely.
Don't forget to buy their custard tarts !!!!!!!!!!! and some spanish chocolates

Just reading about the ham. I think it's the box it comes in that has all of the cost.

Clayton will receive his vintage Joselito hams in their distinctive Rafael Moneo designed boxes, three weeks before Harrods and anyone on mainland Europe do. So you may also. Several have already been pre‐sold for $5,000 each. The case is also a world first, a superb expression of the work of
Spain’s Pritzker Prize awarded contemporary architect, Jose Rafael Moneo. The light studded interior is stunning when lit.

I have to do the family dinner this year for 20 or so. Well meant to but I'm thinking of cancelling xmas this year.

Cantelope wrapped in Jamon with a good crunch of pepper and a quick drizzle of olive oil. Yummo. Go on, you know you want to !!

The cantelope thing sounds weird but it is awesome. Works with prociutto too

Yeah I am scrooge this year.

I am over the family thing. I'm pretty much the only one who hooks into the food side if it. Everyone else just cooks a boring turkey and has some cold ham. And then everyone (other than all the kids) stand around like they are waiting for it to end.

Hence my thought being- cancel family and take the kids to stay in Anglesea and load of on seafood, duck etc

Ahh Grinch. See I've lost touch already :D

My thinking is that Turkeys and hams were once considered a treat and that's why you have them at xmas. I don't think they are anymore.

I do things like an entree with confit of duck leg with 6 scallops and a reduction jus.

And then something like an awesome caprese salad with Jamon.

And a huge paella with a couple of lobsters in it that you just throw on the table and everyone serves themselves.

Now that's a treat and it's very sociable to see everyone scrambling to get 2nds and 3rds of the paella with a few glasses of wine.

Then finish with souffle and some cheeses. Craps on pavlova for dessert that my mum always trotted out. (although I do have a soft spot for xmas pudding)

Hungry yet?

**** I am so pumped right now, tomorrow am on camp, Friday I've been cleared to have the morning off and go straight into the city for my PL (otherwise would have had to go into work for like 2 hours in the morning), THEN 4 DAY WEEKEND.

I am out of here for a whole entire week. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Grab some duck confit. Seriously.
I'm not sure where to get it from I'd need to look.
Last time I grabbed it from Healesville harvest

But you buy it with the duck legs surrounded in duck fat.
You only bake them for about 25 minutes and they are done with crispy skin.

Just make sure you keep all the fat to make the best roast spuds ever !!

I need a holiday.

Just had a mate call me to tell me about his holiday in bali, another has just had a month on his own in Japan. I hate them all.

Not getting one for a year though I don't think

!!
I had duck for the first time in my life at a French Restraunt for my birthday.

Was loooovely. But i could have done without the $10 bottle of sparkling water we (or should that be "I") got sucked into purchasing by the waiter.
