Yeah. In most meaningful ways they become part of your family but, as you say, they'll still always be dogs. Hope it's nothing to worry about all the same. How old is your dog, by the way?
IIRC, VC has a 14 year old lab cross.

It's possible the lump is a fatty benign tumor vinum coupe . My lab had a lump growing on his stomach-of course my 1st thought was 'cancer', but was all good. Vet said they're fairly common in labs.

At what age is best to give kids that money? talking about the topic above.
18,21 even older 25?? I know if i had alot of money at 18 i would of dank it all.
Geez, I know a few 40 year olds that'd still drink an inheritance away. ;)

Reckon Bill Gates' kids would be more sensible though-maybe 25 to be safe!

If I got a $10 million inheritance, I'd be soooooo careful (would've been when I was 21 too lol!).
I'd buy a house, decent car, a few girlie 'must haves', then invest the rest. Oh, I'd have to do the right thing a give a little to a charity too.

Another false alarm on the dog.
Vet took 3 seconds to say there was nothing to worry about.

Said its a fatty lump, and its very common in old dogs.
The lump can grow the size of a melon, but the only issue is the lack of space it creates.
So I've just got to watch it.

That's pretty good about your dog, and the vet not charging you VC.

There must be some vet bill horror stories around.
My highest was about 2k.

The hardest one was when my dog ate a snake. (and I didn't know if it had been bitten)
I thought there was something wrong with her so I took her to the vet.
They said she hadn't been bitten. I wasn't convinced so I had to leave here there for observation. And they charge per day.... and I had to go to Canberra for 4 days.

I rang them when I was in Canberra and they said "still no change, we don't think it's a venom issue"
Rang later... "still no change, we don't think it's a venom issue"
And I said, is there a side effect if you give the anti venom and it hasn't got a venom problem?
"No"
Right then, can you please give her a shot.
"But that will be $450"
I know.

Rang back the next morning. "The dog is a completely different dog, it's jumping around everywhere."

I should have been a vet ;):D

My vets have changed names and now if you take your pet in,if they have not seen that pet for 12 months. They if it a full check up at full cost if you want it or not.

Most cash was 1200$ Fudge the Nudge who got run over. I can remember the Vet talking to me about costs as i seen him in hes cage looking very sad.

I think I remember my parents spending 1k on a budgie 20 years ago.
May have been $500. But it was a bloody lot. My mum is a sucker for that.

I just try to swallow my emotion and think smart. 2k was a lot but the dog was still young.

On the other hand, I'd go with a few "must have" girlies. ;)

Fudge the Nudge is one of the best pet names I've ever heard-was it a dog or cat?

Wine, Women and Song.
But probably just waste the rest. :D

(I know - an oldie. But a goodie.)
Need my eyes checked ASAP-read the bottom bit as you're an oldie but a goodie. :$

I always picture you as a dear old man (with a quick wit!) in your rocking chair, since reading someone's description of you lol! :D

My niece (the one I took to the One Direction concert when her dad was appalled) has a cat called Katy Purry.

Her dad, who is totally anti anything mainstream, is again horrified and wondering where he went wrong.
