I remember this exact same thread after Round 2 last year.

I've got my questions about him as well but ffs at least let him start the third season before judging the overall result. It's not like we're going to be challenging for the finals next year anyway, so if we're 0-6 in '10 then talk to me about swinging the axe.

I agree in principle, and think Bailey should be given his three years to show something.

To play devil's advocate though, ask Richmond supporters where their loyalty to Wallace got them.

Yeah well Wallace mistakenly made public his 5 year plans, Bailey has done nothing of the sort and just gone about his business.

Dean Bailey to surrender his post halfway through his 1st senior AFL coaching contract so he can be an assistant to Mark Williams again.

Now i've heard it all..

That's not all though, we're also getting Alistair Clarkson to be an assistant to Mark Williams as well and changing the club name to the Port Adelaide Power.

Agree! He is by far the best coach in the AFL and Baily an assistant would be the perfect scenario! I'm thinking of 2004 season!

Amusing how Choco and Laidley are alternately discussed as the best coach in the business and are both looking for a job.

Pride, loyalty, commitment and confidence.

Frankly, I've liked just about everything I've seen of Bailey and his performance as coach since he was appointed, and I've not seen anything that would dramatically alter my opinion so far.

I have no issue with people criticising players or aspects of the club (I do it too...) That's part of the reason why we have a board...

I just get annoyed at posts by people who offer no reasons for their opinions. Not even 'bad' reasons. Just no reasons at all...

Take this thread for example... Its nothing more than a 'pot shot' by someone you would normally consider to be a troll, if you didn't actually know them through their previous posts...

That's right... it was a couple of other very similar, but far more vitriolic postings in the same vein on that other topic a couple of days ago that made me go off at the authors of those. I mean, I've seen low-rent trolls by WCE fans (if that's what they actually were) on Bay 13 that were less unreasoning and vicious than a couple of those posts were...
 
I dont mind talking about this. If we are stuck on 1 win for the rest of the season after last years garbage ill be calling for his head myself.

Nah Colin, I'm too much of a natural stirrer to stay away from there for long! Anyway, you expect trolling on there, that's the nature of that board.

Besides, we're doing pretty well on there lately ;)

As for the topic here- pfft! Its an interesting opinion from the OP as I too think choco (despite being a wanka) is a good coach. But I'd never want him at the MFC. And thats even if Bailey wasnt coach. Theres something about him I don't like and that I wouldn't want at Melbourne.

Bailey should only be under pressure if after 11 rounds next year we only have one or two wins. Otherwise I like what he's doing (mostly).

Not even a coaching combo of Superman, Guus Hiddink and Liam Jurrah could do much better with our list at this stage!
