Hypothetically if Port don't win this year and then start a slide (thus marking the end of this era) I would much rather our success than there's (two flags rather unexpected>one flag a long time coming). With that said, Port will still be very strong for at least the next two years.

I think its time the AFL put things in perspective.

There is only 1 premiership.

The so called minor premiership is nothing more than qualifying 1st for the opportunity to play for the real deal. It gains the home ground advantage for the finals series, nothing more. Shouldnt even get a trophy for it.

The so called pre-season premiership is actually a 4 game pre season cup competition, which is taken seriously by 4 or 5 clubs each year. Worthy of a cup, but not recognition of a premiership because it just plain isnt, its a Mickey Mouse cup play off.

By calling these minor elements of the football season 'Premierships', they are diluting the real thing IMO. There is only one premiership, the others are just Mickey Mouse consolation prises, that are worth less than even a minor final win.
