I want to say well done because only good teams lose after scoring 100+ points. Your boys played smart football when they needed to and I thought it might of got you the win but damn our boys did something very special that is still hard to comprehend. But congrats and see you in future finals hopefully late in September.

Port looked pretty scary on the attack in that game but looks like both of us will be up there in the near future tearing this competition up. Good for SA and all that jazz.

Unusual ball bounce didn't put them in front nor did it cost us the game, that's a cop out. We still had a chance to lock down. We didn't. Their two most damaging players still ran unchecked and unsurprisingly won them the game. We choked. There is no way Boak or Wingard should've been allowed anywhere near it, let alone with the time and space they had.

Its not hard to comprehend. Lets see, get it out of the middle, move it forward, kick the goals. You did that x4. It wasnt luck, we led by four straight kicks late in the match. Luck gets you 1 goal, doesnt get you four in a row. You did it well, ably assisted by our incompetence, in not doing anything to change it up, nor clog your forward line or anything like that from coaches 101.

Interesting statistic on the AFL site a few weeks ago - The first team to 100 points wins roughly 98% of the time. The only team in the last couple years to defy the trend was North Melbourne, a couple times.

I only got to hear the game on the radio as I was coming home from the riverland, but were many easy shots missed in front of goal? I heard us kick it out on the foul a few times around goal, as well as many behinds. As someone said previously, 17.5 vs 15.13. Whilst 15.13 is better  for us, it is not good enough to be a top team.

Not a choke, it just happens. Save for a bit of luck we would be talking up one of the best Showdowns wins given who was in/out for the respective sides.

The thing about close wins is that they paper over a lot of cracks. It happened to us against North and Port just better hold back on the gloating for a moment. 28 scoring shots to 22, after leading comfortably at halftime. I'll leave it at that.

That bounce couldn't have. You couldn't replicate that again if you wanted to!

I was laughing when that went through, i really wanted Crows to win but that bounce...

If there was a stat for losing the lead & the game with the last goal of the match, I bet we've give it a fair shake.

We stopped playing with 5 to go. Absolute choke. No doubt about it. Embarrassing. We've been doing it all year. Mentally weak, spineless effort in the last 5 mins.

Yep had them 3 kicks down with 10 or so to go and don't recall us winning a clearance since that point. Poor midfield display. You make your luck.

You'll get yours, just like 2007, when you had one of the most luckiest minor round seasons in AFL history. We all know what then happened the last day in September.

Yes, this year is remarkably similar to 2007 and hopeful it will be their first final where they get smashed.

I'm absolutely gutted because I never expected them to win today and when we got 4 goals up with 5 minutes to play I thought the boys have done it proud but to lose a game like that is inexcusable and now I know how North Melbourne fans feel. It is gut wrenching.

Not reading the thread.
But how in god names can someone put this thread up?
We beat North from an unwinnable position and we hold off the Cats.
Close this thread. Bullshit

Yeah... like against Geelong two weeks ago. And North earlier in the year

We tried our hardest to lose to Geelong. 2 set shots in the last few minutes. Just scraped over the line when they both missed.

As much as I dislike your football club and find it hard to look at the crows objectively, I must say that Crouch is something very very special. I rolled my eyes when I heard a mate say he'd be better than Dangerfield a few weeks ago, but I get what he means. His composure and skills today were incredible.

I think picking him up limits the damage of not being involved in those early draft rounds somewhat.

One can only hope.

Didn't do enough to put the game beyond doubt, but you can't really blame the Crows for that absurd bounce. Take that out of the equation and we win that game.

Ball shouldn't have even been down there. At least four broken tackles before it got halfway down the ground. Still don't know HTF it went through. Knew it then we were going to lose.

We've been paying for Nigel Smart's leg spinner in the last quarter of the 1998 GF for 15 years.
