For a trade in the ND, probably only command a 4th round or higher. Player swap, hard to say. Overall not much trade value.

Why, what use did you have in mind for him?

I'm not MM or Neil Balme so what I say has little relevance, but I'd happily give up a one of a 4th rounder, Jason Cloke or Julian Rowe for him.

Still your thoughts would be interesting. Whats happened to Rowe? He was very promising last year (or the year before?)

We already have a J.Cloke equivalent in Big Red

Bryan and mclaren are the only two ruckmen left on our list and we would struggle severely in the middle if we let bryan go for a julian rowe, who is nothing more than a solid wide receiver with good ball use.

He is probably the ruck who is most out of favour at Carlton so with Deluca and Mclaren available they left him out. Having said that he has been pretty good all year with the Ants

Given the choice right now, i'd pick Bryan ahead of DeLuca every day of the week. DeLuca is just a very average footballer.

I think Bryan is underrated - surely we can develop him?? I too would prefer to see him in the list than Deluca the Dinosaur

Hate to say it, but Deluca is actually better than Bryan. They are both terrible.

Deluca works pretty hard. Bryan doesn't.

What would you guys want for Chris Bryan?

I'd take your offer of a 4th rounder in a heartbeat, and our ruck stocks are abysmal.

Bryan - has some talent, but is a very, very lazy footballer.
DeLuca - tries hard, moves well, but has hands of stone.
McLaren - 194cm ruckman who don't have a great leap or get 20+ ppg are going to struggle at AFL level.
Batson - has played two seasons at VFL Reserves level = gone

French's retirement might be the only thing that saves one or two of them from being delisted this year.

Scarily enough, our best Ruck prospect is probably Aisake! Great mover & leap, probably a better kick than Carlos at the same stage. He needs to bulk up to play in the Ruck though.

I don't know why everyone always bags Bryan. From what I've seen he has some real talent. He has a great leap and can take big marks around the ground. He just needs to improve his tapping. Of course I can't comment on his work ethic as I don't live in Victoria and can't watch him train. There are at least ten guys I would delist before Bryan including McLaren and DeLuca. There is no doubt in my mind that he could become a very good player.

Bryan doesn't push himself at all..........just cruises along whether its at training or in a match. Its easy to get sucked into thinking he is a good player when he swings on his left foot and roosts one.

I got sucked in.I saw his first game against Sydney and thought who is this bloke?
A mobile ruckman who would run down and take the kickouts with that beautiful left foot of his.
I was wondering why he hasn't kicked on.

If you'd been on the ground at 3/4 time during the Ants v Williamstown game, you'd know why he gets bagged.

He got a solid bake from Mitchell for not working as directed. Mitch was facing away from me but I did catch him pounding him for playing the hero by going for mark of the year while not doing the stuff he was on the ground for.

Fair enough, he was a slackarse that day. Next week, Ants reserves side.

Lazy as Bryan may be, he has plenty of natural talent and has a hell of a jump. With French gone, and if Gardiner comes and gets injured, I'd much rather have someone lazy than McLaren or Deluca in the ruck

Bryan has the ability but there must be something wrong with his attitude. He hasn't had much game time so you would imagine he has upset someone. The other thing that seems to suggest concentration problems is his kicking. Technically and skill wise he is brilliant but how often does he shank his kicks?
