Its reasonable to assume that any tall drafted this Saturday will require a 2 year apprenticeship in the VFL before they make a meaningful contribution in the seniors.

This does actually make sense - If you don't think the role is important, than you're unlikely to place a premium on the role-specific skills when looking for one. Rather, you'll look for one that plays more like a player of a position you DO rate.As I said, we don’t seem to value the role and can’t seem to judge the abilities. I think the two are connected.
