Its hogan's forwardline. Call him arrogant, call him watever you want. He knows that dawes is taking the space of a decent forward, and he gets shitty. I can definately sense that hogan is pissed off with chris

With the personnel we have available, we will need to restructure if we drop Dawes.

Even if we bring in Fitz, I reckon they'll play him at CHB, and put TMac at CHF again.

My preference is for Jamar at full forward though, as you suggest.
Quoting yourself, aaaand responding to yourself hey D? :p

As a Pies fan you should know that Dawesy couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag :$
Neither can the guy in the story, he's a submission specialist who likes to break limbs after the fight has already been called.

Palhares i hope you mean. Because chris played his best game of the season. Is it too much to ask, that he back it up this week?
Yep, as for Dawes I can tolerate him when he works 40+ metres away from Hogan.

Next time Dawes lead backwards (which is 9 out of his 10 leads) i'd like hogan to plant his knee square in Dawes' back and fill him in, hopefully this will scare Dawes off and he will then lead forward and at the bloody ball.

Dawes is a senior player and an experienced forward and although he took 6 marks on the weekend, which is amazing for old concrete hands, he should be able to kick a ****ing goal or two.

6 Goals in 11 games is pretty disgusting for any forward. He seems like a nice guy but it would be hard to take his leadership seriously when his output is so low.

Not many chest marks available in the forward 50 for a bloke who isn't lightning quick plus he's a shit shot at goal.
The mark he grassed when he was leading out just forward of centre wing (i think it was Hogan (EDIT: it was Grimes) who kicked it to him?) got me out of my seat. Perfect kick. Good lead. Got two hands to it and you just thought 'easy mark but it's Dawes'. He drops it and our momentum ceases. We were on like donkey kong if he takes a pretty simple mark for an AFL player. That kills me.

Quality. Although, not great timing after his best game of the year! Haha
Obviously from the look on his face he's trying "really really really really really really really really really" hard in practice :thumbsu:

To be fair it is hard to hold onto a mark when you've got two Viney's strapped to your hands...
I don't think his hands are that high quality of brick

Dawes said this in an article on MFC.com about he and Hogan.
“We’ve only played 10 games together, so the more we play together – the more we’ll understand each other’s strengths and movement patterns and hopefully we can become a partnership that will actually test a few defences."

I would say Hogan is already testing defences, scaring them and beating them.

Dawes comments sound tentative and tbh piss weak and to me this seems a characteristic of his. Hogan is one of the best things to have happened at Melbourne and I dont want Dawes bringing him down to his level which is he'll try this week - not next week, take this mark drop this one, kick this one miss that one. That's surely why the Pies got rid of him because while he can be really good he is largely unreliable.
Am I right that he got a four year deal which expires 2016?

Back in 2011 when we beat Brisbane by 50 points prompting Voss to say Melbourne were going to be a dynasty in the coming years the AFL got together & decided on the best action to keep Melbourne down. It was decided Collingwood would send him in here as a double agent to spy on us & fumble marks that no one could miss unless it was intentional. This runs a lot deeper but I don't know if even you could handle it. Lets just say we have an alien on our list & can any one say Neeldbot?

If be interested in hearing Hogan's honest thoughts on Dawes.

Also lets not forget that Dawes was a major player in helping Vince settle into Melbourne and possibly turn his form around.

Dawes is a great leader & club man. Unfortunately his one flaw is probably the most important aspect of his job. Being able to take a mark.
