Can't tell if you're taking the piss or not. That list probably speaks more to prudent list management than anything else at this point haha.

No, I was saying that he has been dropped off the melbourne list so he's lost his role as a footballer, but he still retains his role of being on a list of players that buckley got rid of. He'll probably get mentioned a few times next year, probably later in the year if the Pies dont do too well and buckley is under pressure.

Actually, when you think about it, I can see him retaining this role for quite a few years because, whether buckley gets the flick or not, people are going to continue to discuss the list of players that buckley got rid of for a long long time...... so like i said, he might be able to show his grandchildren how he was such a big deal in his footy days...

He's best moment was in the 3rd Qtr after that goal when he made a contest that a) hurt his opponent and b) brought the ball to ground for Pendlebury to kick it long to Sidebottom. Will always be remembered for those two 3rd quarter moments

He was fantastic in the GF replay and helped us win the flag: forever grateful to him for that and what a moment for him. He was not a champion, not necessarily a great career but, there are not too many blokes who can say the have won an AFL premiership so good luck to him. He was a real confidence player, his kicking went through stages, some times dead eye, then the yips for a while, he was never a great mark and should have been much better for his size but he was a smart footballer who created goals with his tap-ons to advantage and hand balls out of traffic in the forward line.
 
There's always something that adds to a player when you've watched them come through the VFL like Dawes did. He was a better mark than people give him credit for but was a shocking kick early on. I think he suffered from not having Cloke's position and being tried as a swinging ruck. Made to roam forward 50 in my book.
