I sincerely believe he will become a power forward, but I can't get the sight of Billy Morrison off my mind, like Dawes, he came with big wraps; A little birdie once said he is the next Jonathan Brown.

Sor far, I've been impressed with Chris's attittude and his whole personality as a human being through my own two eyes. On the field, his second and third efforts are greatly mentioned by various draft watchers, but as i've never seen him his future remains in the air.

What are your thoughts on the kid.

seems to be good, he may even play a couple of williamstown games this year.
it says on the cfc website that he is due to be back midseason.

cheers

You have to take chances with kids like this... I don't think it is possible to win a flag without the 1000 pound gorilla in the goal square

Look at recent premiership teams

Barry Hall
Jonathon Brown
Warren Tredrea
Matthew Lloyd
Lynch (Alistair and Quinten)

The Bulldogs have become the prime example of a blistering fast, infinitely talented list that has ZERO CHANCE of winning a flag because they don't own a gorilla

Our window is closing with Rocca, he has maybe 1 or 2 very good years left in him, must take a punt on Dawes and kids like him

I tend to agree with that. Finals footy is a different ball game and you need that key forward to provide a contest when the game tightens up and becomes congested.

I have only watch the draft video of Dawes from last year he looked very impressive. It would be great to get a few VFL games into him this year with a view to debuting him in the big stuff next year.

The year before Billy was drafted he hardly played with a shoulder injury and Noel Judkins was having some problems at the time which lead to some poor draft choices. I'm happy to report that unlike Billy who had the speed and dexterity of a lamp post, Chris is a beautiful mover who was dominating games inside the forward 50 for the Dragons last year, with his contested marking a feature. He'll be worth the wait and unlike William whose claim to fame was kicking 16 in some backwoods Tassie match, Chris's CV is full of accomplishments which points to a quality recruit.

Billy Morrison wasn't an outlandish pick, everyone expected him to go around pick 12-20. Obviously it was the wrong pick, and people got carried away at Wiz's suggestion that he is a Jonothan Brown styled player. Morrison was always going to be a risky pick though due to the footy he missed because of injury but he was still tipped to be drafted in last first round early 2nd round territory. I think we made a mistake in drafting him because he was such a risky pick because we really needed to stockpile solid young players that will help our depth rather than roll the dice. I think we overrated our list in GF years especially the bottom end of it and the youngsters.

Also one of the big wraps on him was his off field demeanor, his desire etc and clubmanship but it seemed he lost his way off the field when he was drafted.

Actually he called him the next Wayne Carey

To which I would like to call Wiz the next Greg Miller (the Richmond years)

Carey? Don't think so. People willfully misquote this, but Jabso has got it right. Wiz compared the style of Morrison's play to Brown. Never said he was as good or had as much potential, just that he played a similar style of game.

Billy was fat and overweight and had no agility, pace or could play in more than role on the field.

Dawes looks like a footballer, fit, broad shoulders and will be good for the Pies when fit and ready

Remember quite clearly thanks, the comparison was Carey

You're welcome, but I read his profiles too. I don't recall him ever describing anyone as 'the next Carey'. He may have compared playing styles, but I very much doubt that Wisbey was silly, or careless, enough to describe a 17-year-old as the next anyone.

I'm not gonna get sucked into another interminable debate about Colin Wisbey. But I do think it's poor form the way people continue to misquote him, usually as a preface to a snide remark.

He said it, and you can say the word misquote all you like but everyone is allowed an opinion of him without you having to defend him all the time.. I think he loves fat arsed mids and the game has passed him by
