DAWESOME.

Honestly, how good was he, he tore the scum apart.

12 kicks.
5 handballs.
10 marks.
3 tackles.

3 goals.
4 behinds.

His body is so huge that no one can contest physically with him, he is exactly what the Collingwood Football Club needed.

We now have 2 absolute key forwards.:thumbsu::):D

Havn't seen the game yet, waiting for the replay on Fox Sports, but looking at those stats he must've done pretty well. Bit inaccurate though.

Really glad that Dawes is finally showing something, I've been backing him to make it and it looks like he's finally going to get a chance to string some games together.

He's going to make it. Needs to work on his marking, but he has showed enough over the last 2 weeks to make Jack Anthony worry about getting back into the team. Really happy with him, he worked so hard today and beat every opponent that was on him.

He has always had the talent to be an AFL forward. Those who saw him pre-season would have noticed him 'grow' a bit more. Someone on another board mocked one of my VFL report post when I was very positive about what he offered in a game.

Deserves a spot for next couple of weeks, I'm just scratching my head on where that leaves Jack now?

Cheers to Dawes for another good game. :thumbsu:

Looked fit and up for it, good performance I thought. His presence will give opposing teams something extra to worry about. A far better option than Leigh Brown...

Well and truly on the bandwagon. Thought he was serviceable last week, and a champion this. If he continues this form he will easily be our highest goal kicker in a full season.

His kicking style actually looks like it has a chance of going through the goals every time, unlike some players named Cloke, but i won't name names.

gotta love the current fight for forward line spots

Travis seems to be putting last years horrors behind him,Medder's is fit,JA is on the comeback trail and Dick should be pressing for selection in a month.Just need leon to get some form and Rus,well he is just the wildcard at the moment

He and Cloke worked exceptionally well together all afternoon. He beat his opponent today based on work-rate and his ability to use that massive tank of his to advantage. Took a huge step forward in his development today.

He still needs to kick better than he did today and he needs to get rid of his habit of trying to mark on his chest at times when he needs to extend his dukes.

Not sure where you got the stats, matty, as the AFL website says he had 17 disposals with 12 kicks and 5 handballs. Best thing about his game is that 9 of those were contested possesions with 4 of his marks contested (compared to Cloke who only had 4 contested possies and 1 contested mark*). Great performance by Dawesome and comparisons to Anthony Rocca are justified, I think.

EDIT: He also had 6 marks inside 50, compared to 2 by Medders and 2 by Cloke. Slots in nicely to that monster forward role.

*Not saying this to discredit Cloke, more saying how having two talls helps share the load.

was my mistake, got my stats of the AFL side too, typed in 2 instead of 5.

Still don't get the Anthony Rocca comparisons at all other than them being a similar body shape.

Dawes was much better today, and easily our best KPF, but he still took the vast majority on his chest.

He's a freak in terms of having a wide body and a huge tank, but he's still got a long way to go in terms of 1-on-1 stuff (unless he gets to play on Simon White every week). Still, a very good game overall, and if he keeps getting the delivery he was today, he'll keep kicking goals.
