It's hard too say. There are some reports saying he may be out for the season, and others are saying it's not as bad as first thought, may only be out for 4-6 weeks.
Either way he is going to find it hard,to fight his way back into the first's when there are a lot of players similar to Egan who may be considered before him.

He is still quite young,i would not delist him ,but if need be he would be, good trade bait for say a big bodied ruckman next year.
Say a Ben Hudson from adelaide or jamie charman or Mcdonald from Brissie.

Big shame about his injury and it's a shame he doesn't seem to kick on when getting a gig in the senior side. But delisting him is a big no, no. He has shown abit at his young age that he is worth holding onto with a bit of patience. Compared to some of the other junk the Pies had recently held onto like Walker and Brent Hall I can not see Chris going as yet unless he wanted to go or it's trade related.

Isn't he contracted until the end of 08 anyway

Quality always gets a second (and third and fourth sometimes ) chance and Egan has quality . He still has time on his side , he wont be delisted just yet .

Absolutely! I thought he showed some terrific signs against Adelaide and was one of the reasons we did so well over there. Persevere with him - he might have a bit of an attitude problem but he has real class. You can always do something about the former but you can't teach natural ability!

That is bad luck. Looks like he can get over it without surgery though which can't be a bad thing.

Does this mean that we can now promote a rookie?

If so, I'm hoping it will be Sharrod Wellingham. I've only seen him training at Gosch's but he certainly seems to have something. Watched him having some goalkicking practise and slotted one after another on a pretty windy day (of course this is without match pressure)

There's some really great photos in today's Melbourne Sun Herald of Sharrod in a marking contest with MM where he puts Mick on the deck. You can't help but smile when you see Mick's happy smiling face. Looks like a coach that hasn't got a problem in the world..... a must see!:thumbsu:

Cheers,

Nicholls has been promoted.

It's too late to promote anyway for Dawes if he's going to be back midseason (they have to be out for 8 weeks I think).

Anthony and Rusling may move onto the LTI list, but then again I don't know how long Rusling will be out for, Anthony will miss the season. So we may be able to promote both Wellingham and Clarke.

Bit of a bow to egan, however fortunately for him he wont require surgery which is a positive in itself. I think we should persevere with him no doubt, he is in his 3rd season, although looks like this season is now officially a right-off, (in terms of senior football this year) so he'll bounce back and be better for it next season.

You just don't delist a 1st rnd draft pick especially one in the top 10 if you are trying to rebuild with youth. It's a big call but i think with confidence and time could develop into a mcleod-type player, playing off half back, middle /wing or half forward. Looking forward to further seeing his development enhanced and fast tracked.

It's time to promote Sharrod Wellingham. He may not play to begin with but would be more ready than Marty Clarke. I am interested to see how he goes in the big league, his form has been very good at Williamstown so that's not a problem, he seems to find the ball and finishes well.
