..to a Grand Final humiliation actually. No leadership quality when it counted. Year number 44 begins. :)
i saw a bit of leadership when he lead Bruce and green to kick goals in the final quarter of the first week of the finals. starting the rot toward spoons for the once mighty blues

Neitz= captained his team to a grand final (beat carlton to get there by the way. And in one of 'koutas' greatest years? Hmmm. Where were the mighty blue leaders? :) ).

Grant= Didn't.

Sorry....these are the facts.

Kouta played in a winning GF 1995. Premiership flag - do you know what they are? The Dees last won a flag in 1964 - 43 long years ago - i.e. even before the Range Rover was developed. :)
I notice you conveniently left out the word 'captain'. But hey...we wouldn't expect a player of his 'talent' to captain a side to a grand final. Would we nerrrrdddd? :D

Both have battled hard over the course of their careers for their respective clubs. Neitz would have found it difficult to get a game elsewhere, Grant would have been handy at most clubs.

I think a David Neitz v Mark Richardson poll would have been more appropriate.

I'd have Grant just in front.

Showed great leadership slamming the ball for a point from about 5 metres out 2 mins into the 2000 GF :thumbsu:
One of the very few Melbourne players that flew the flag that day, beat the All-Australian FB Dustin Fletcher (kicking 3 or 4 goals) with limited supply.

I just find it very funny when a Dees supporter, like yourself, talks about Grand Finals or flags - your record is pathetic whatever way you look at it. 43+ flagless years is a fact that's just hard to avoid, isn't it. Celebrating a player who captained a side on the receiving end of one of the biggest GF humiliations in the history of the game, just makes things worse. :)

if grant remained injury free could be a toss up.however grant has been riddled with injuries for the last 5 seasons so how anyone cann pick grant gots me.statistics dont lie and they say nietz is way ahead goals,marks,win/loss% as captain,finals played.
