What this "can only serve" crap? If that were true he'd never break his opponent. Yet he's acheived many breaks over the past few weeks.

I don't mind what Gooch is trying to do with his game. He knows he won't win long rallies, so instead he tries to win the point early. For him that means going for high risk shots, but again, I agree with his strategy. You'll see with time his winners-to-unforced errors ratio will improve, and at that time everyone here will be praising the destructive nature of his game.

It is no shame losing to O.Rochus...if it was C.Rochus then there is a problem. I dont know why you all thought he was easily going to beat Rochus. Maybe you have never seen him play before.

He's achieved some good results in his career and is a pretty handy player. However lets be honest, the Gooch was in career best form (although it doesn't say much) and at his home Slam he should have won. He had two match points and had a huge chance to win. This is Rochus’s 9th year on the tour and he only has 2 career titles. His best performance at a Slam is the 4th Round. Far from staggering results; the Gooch should have won.
