He was holding Adams' arm to prevent Adams from making a genuine attempt at disposing. That would lead to a free kick.

Next.
You're joking are'nt you? How do you imagine he was in a position to make any attempt to dispose of the ball let alone a genuine one?

Correct me if i am wrong, but the AFL rules do not require prior opportunity to award a free kick if the player does not make a genuine attempt to dispose of the ball.

If a player is tackled immediately when they take possession they still have to make a genuine attempt to dispose of it.
When there is no prior opportunity and there's no legitimate means to dispose of the ball (ie. gang tackle locking the ball in there) there's no free kick.

A lot of the comments in this thread just reek of Judd/Carlton hate imho. If it were J Brown or Lenny Hayes who had done the same thing, this thread wouldn't be 1800 replies big. Like peasants out to watch the guillotines, some of you lot.
Brown and Hayes don't have a history of targeting defenseless players.

There's your big difference.

If this was an isolated incident then you might be given the benefit of any doubt. Judd's history means he gets none.

I can't think of a lower act in terms of lacking courage than attacking a defenseless player.

Judd now has a long history of doing it.

You need to be seen to make a genuine attempt. Players get pinged for not doing so all the time regardless of there not being a realistic opportunity to do so.

For what it's worth I've repeatedly said Judd deserves week for the incident but i'll leave it at that. Obviously anything which is not "JUDD MUST SUFFER" or lynch mob-esque is not welcome discussion. Enjoy.

He has one incident which was the Steven Seagal one.
The other 2 he was found not guilty.

LOl. Please keep this up mate. Your delusion is bringing serious laughs. He will get 4-5, you won't make finals and north will have ended your season. Your tears are soo yummy

So if your arm was in an already dangerous position would you also like Judd to pull it away from your body?

Swallow's not a monster, he was doing what any other player would have. His actions however may have caused Adams further harm. If you don't recognise that possibility looking at the vision then you're blind.
Judd a dirty player, if you can't see that then you are blind.

3 - 4 weeks. If he gets any less than that, then he seriously is the AFL's golden child and a protected species.

Imagine the Blues fans ire if a North player did that to a Carlton player.

Such crap spouting from some of these Carlton supporters comments, including the fact that one idiot is suggesting it was Swallows fault for pushing Judd over while Judd was twisting Adam's arm. Bloody pathetic.

Roles reversed ...

[Carlton fan] Preventing Hunt from winning the football. Play on! [/Carlton fan]
You and I both know all clubs have their share of moronic one eye supporters.

Judd was wrong for what he did but had it been a lesser name, it would be nowhere near as big an issue.

I am staggered that Carlton supporters think what was done is ok. These are the same ones that were calling for Sam Lonergans head over a tackle.
No reason to be staggered, its just an extension of the Carlton 'born to rule' mentality, they believe because they are Carlton the normal cap rules don't apply so its simply an extension to believe that playing rules don't apply to their captain.

So?

I'm talking about why people are reacting the way they are to this episode. It's irrelevant to people with half a clue what the AFL Marketing Dept called what we saw with our own eyes.

It is absolute bias stupidity. Judd doesn't let go of his arm when swallow tries to pull him off MAYBE if he let go immediately it would not have been so bad.

Anyone suggesting he intentionally dislocated or hurt Adams' shoulder is crazy. He was clearly trying to prevent the handball occurring.
So if, or when (as expected by reports tonight) he pleads guilty to something other than preventing this alleged handball of yours, are you going to take back all of these cringe worthy and laughable posts?

Definitely not Swallow's fault nor can you blame him but it certainly could have aggravated the injury.

2-3 weeks for mine though no worse than Hunt who walked away with only a fine.
