It's ruined now mate.

Once he was accused of eye-gouging he was forever tainted in my book. That is just an abhorrent offence which he should have been punished heavily for. The AFL is a very weak organisation. Let's see if they finally show some testicles on this occasion.

Judd is a gutless, weak pig. He is not a champion.
I can't defend his actions but this is just rubbish.

Who is generally rated as one of the greatest players of all time and an absolute champion of the game - Leigh Matthews.

Aside from bigfooty world where everyone has the memory of a goldfish its safe to say Judd will be remembered as a champion.

A champion creates their magic on field without sniping. Judd will be remembered as a great player BUT.

There will now always be that BUT, you can accept it or live in denial as the rest of the Blues board are doing.

The Blues supporters should look on the bright side, Judd most likely will miss most of the remainder of this season, Carlton will finish 11th to 13th, fringe players will get a go, they will get a lower draft pick and all this will be enough to save Ratten his job.

So next season they will still have Ratten as coach:D

There isn't any bright side to Ratten being coach next year.

Strange how many Blues fans are citing Hunt but not mentioning that Aaron Joseph received exactly the same punishment for the same action last year. Hunt-Joseph is worth 1-2 weeks for mine, don't recall many of them howling about Joseph....

Judd 3-4. Not on, just don't do it but the hysteria is over the top. People definitely excited at the prospect of a hanging.

People are excited at the prospect of the AFL having to swallow the same type of shit it has forced down supporters throats for years. He has a track record he has been shamelessly protected from the consequences of his actions until now when its simply impossible to protect.

NOW the AFL will have to cop it in the teeth and see its love child go down in flames. This is more about a protected species being take off the endangered list than Judd hate.

The AFL are just going to have to sit there and take it, and I for one am relishing it.

Doubt that Carlton would have to beg for a senior coach next year.
Plus they wouldn't have to be that highly credentialed to be in front of Ratten in any event.
Agree on Ratten, taking into account the state of your list, your nearly non existent player development and your delusional administration any coach will need to be very well paid indeed to take it on.

Remember Stevie Bakers 9 week holiday for smashing Johnson's hand.
He got one week for that.
Another two for striking
Another two for striking
Another two for striking

And a loading for a bad record.
And no discount.

Something along those lines. The story that Baker got nine weeks for one offence is a myth and a lie.

I kid you not but on the Carlton board the only reason Judd is even having a case to answer is because of the media.

The media are out to get Chris Judd, yes the same Chris Judd who has had an armchair ride from the media and the AFL all his career.

The same Chris Judd that elbowed a bloke and split his eye open and the AFL ignored it and handed him a Brownlow.

It's a conspiracy.

I hope he gets 4 weeks and maybe the media and the AFL start to realise how much form Judd has.

Eye gouging, pressure points, dislocating shoulders, it is starting to mount.

So the same media who praise his miscued field kicks as being "put cleverly into space" and describe his habitual shanking of set shots as "out of character" are out to get him?

One one extreme side yes, sycophantic delusion on the other.
See, I thought you would be better than that.

There are enough Blues supporters who acknowledge that he did the wrong thing and have said he should get weeks.

For the record, I am one of them.

Pity you won't acknowledge it.

Also, a healthy proportion of all clubs' supporters becomes "delusional" or bunker down when one of their own is under the spotlight. Nothing unusual in that. I'll bet even Lions supporters have done it.
Take it to the delusional Blues board sunshine.
No, I'm happy to call a frothing, feral, hysterical mob out for what it is at its source. Here.

Credit to the proportion of posters on either side of the debate who have done their best to be sensible, objective and rational.

No, its about the nature of the offence.

Partly that and partly the fact that Carlton supporters are completely delusional about this.
I'm not delusional about this - it deserves an explanation at the judiciary, and he will be punished accordingly.
Now, did we see the Rioli chicken wing last night - do you think the powers that be at headquarters will be having a quiet word in his ear about the nature of his tackle ?

Here is my take on the whole incident:
  • Firstly Judds attack on a defenseless player who was pinned face first to the ground was a gutless dog of an act, and should be penalised accordingly no matter what the extent of Adam's injury is. To a point it reminded me of what a couple of weak bullies in a schoolyard would do to a kid;
  • As mystifying as this act was, even more unbelievable are the misguided and uneduacted attempts by Carlton supporters to justfiy/defend Judd and the action (and before you jump on me about this take a look on their board). Of course I forgot - all of the football experts and media personalities must be wrong. Carlton supporters are obviously deluded or have no idea of the game ffs!
  • To all those stating that this is a witch hunt because it is Judd: Judd is a senior figure in the game who would be idolised by kids playing football. He is a brownlow medallist. He is one of the highest paid players in the league. He needs to set an example to other players and to the football community as a whole. This is why there is hysteria, and because of his position in the game as a leader he needs to be made an example of to show that he cannot simply get away with whatever he wants.
  • Every team has players that are tagged every week - please do not try and make that pathetic excuse as to the reason why he tried to rip Adams arm out of its socket.
  • Lastly the ongoing crap about Swallow making it worse is laughable - the only reason Swallow and McMillan jumped in was because of the obvious pain Adams was in.
Carlton supporters please go and put your heads back in the sand and wait for next year.

Case closed.

Yep it's a conspiracy.

Just like you I am in amazement that a bloke with the kicking skills of James Manson has had the whole thing brushed off for so long.

Don't forget the repeated chestnut over there by several posters that Andrew Swallow dislocated Adams shoulder, by pushing Judd who was innocently trying to prevent the handball.

You can't make this stuff up.

As anyone that played against C Judd in schoolboy footy will be able to tell you, the guy is a ratbag.

Was known for grabbing and squeezing ones sack if you were at the bottom of a pack.

Is the guy a good footballer? 2 brownlows, some b&fs, all australians, twice captain, premiership player etc etc

Is the guy a dirty footballer? 2 x eye gauging reports, 1 elbowing incident, chicken wing tackle. Simply cant argue this.
i used to work with a guy who went to caulfield grammar and he said exactly the same thing
