Hes not that much better, but it all comes down to personal opinion.
I dont think Eagles would offer anything more than Fletcher+ 3rd round pick for Lucas.

Edit: It also comes down to what a club desperately needs.

I'd don't think we'd take that offer because, as I said above, we lack genuine KPPs. If we were going to give up Lucas, we'd expect to someone who can play KP in return. From your list, I think the only players we'd be interested in are Hansen and Staker. Perhaps McDougall, but I don't like the look of him.

We could give you Henneman - he's a tall defender that can go forward and back, and pinch-hit in the ruck. 24 years old, played fifty-odd games. He's crap, though.
:D :D

Secondly, what about Hille, Henner, Reynolds, Davies for Judd or Kerr.
though from hearing Sheeds talk about signing a big name midfielder I get the distinct feeling he is after Judd.
Also, if Johns ever plays, the lack of quality talls is solved!

The third round is probably a little late - second round would be a fairer trade, IMO.

Lucas + second rounder for Fletcher + Hansen/Staker?

Love Scotty at the club, but we desperately need somebody like Fletcher.

trading lucas will create more problem than it fixes, remember Alvey and Rama are not 100% and won't play their best footy till next season, then dyson looks the goods for a spot next year and McPhee in midfield. The midfield isn't as much of a problem in the future as KPP....
Fletcher, Wellman on their last legs we need to fill FB and CHB, whilst Richards looked good last week they seem to prefer him forward. Hunt/Henneman don't look like stepping up to where the club would have hoped, that leaves Laycock, Richards and Bradley as the emerging talls, with Bradley probably still 2 seasons away at best from holding down a KP. whereas midfield we have Alvey, Rama, Dyson, Stanton, winderlich, bullen, haynes, nash, walsh coming through --> trading Lucas who is 27 next season with still plenty left will not improve the side, even if we get a Fletcher type midfielder for him. the deal would want to be very good for it to be even considered, with the regard Lucas has at the club and the value of KPP.

we're best off doing what we always do, trade the fringe for other fringe who we hope will step up at a new place, look for cheap talent that teams want to give away where we have the upperhand and not getting involved in high profile bidding wars. the better the player the more clubs interested the higher the cost.
