"We got a taste of it and really woke up to how far we have to go.
"Josh Bruce played on Adam Goodes, I played on Chris Judd, Tommy Bugg played on Brent Harvey, and it opens your eyes about how good the champions are and how far behind we are."
"It was crazy, he's just a machine," he said.
"I think he felt sorry for us because he was telling me where I should be standing and saying I was giving him too much room.
"Then I'd be too scared to say anything back and I'd just hold my position on him and next thing you know, he's got the centre clearance and kicking it straight up to [Robert] Warnock.
"I met him through Caulfield [Grammar], same school, and he's a really good bloke and it was such an experience to play on such a champion.
"He's probably the best ever."
