I rate Knights highly but I don't think we should be trading for any player that isn't a key forward or a ruckman.

Knights will strengthen the goal kicking power. I'm not too sure if he is still contracted.

Petterd and 2nd rounder is too much.

How about Daniel Bell as a direct swap or Daniel Bell, plus swaping our and Crows 4th rounder?

Do you think Bell will be in our best defence line-up for next year? If not, trade or use him as a midfield to inject more pace?

Also, do you think Hawks will be keen on Bell and Wheatley because of lacking defence?

Good skills, wins alot of it, stong mark and knows where the goals are. All qualities Bell lacks unfortunately. I'd certainly take another Colin Sylvia in the team at this stage. A very good trade I reckon if the crows would entertain it.

Surely a joke. On his form this season he would go for a low 2nd round pick. Bell wouldn't be in the top 30 players at Adelaide so technically your trade would be Knights for a 4th rounder.

Id only throw up the trade - if we ended up with a priority, which would
be a bonus, and if you can get Knights as a bonus, then your doing
pretty well..

The kids all class, he has all the makings to really push into the elite
bracket next year - if he hasnt done so already, I rate him very
highly.

It would be interesting what the Adelaide BF board thought would be
a suffiecient trade - in terms of both teams getting something out
of it.

Now that I think of it, If I were Adelaide I'd probably be targeting Pick 2 as compensation. But I would only want Melbourne to trade our 2nd round pick in a deal. I don't think it would help adelaide to trade Knights for a kid, they already have a host of young players settling into the standard and he is one of them.

It's not only a rep, it's the truth.

He had a break out year a few years ago, getting tons of possessions but let himself down with his foot skills.

The likes of Mckay, VAnBerlo, Vince, dangerfield, douglas etc have passed him but good on him for adding another dimension to his game i.e. goalkicking.

He is a surplus player and i would be furious if we traded a pick for surplus players.

They're just examples, but Melbourne should look into trading for youngsters, just not our draft picks. If we can get an older player, around 25-years-old, then Melbourne should at least consider it (not necessarily Kane Tenace). I'm only thinking in terms of not coming last again next year because our senior players are too old & the rest are too young. We need someone in that middle.

I certainly hope you are taking the piss talking about Sellar. He is langishing in the Glenelg reserves and if you offered the Crows magic beans they would take them. I really hate the crows and dont rate there players at all but Knights is ok. He finds a lot of ball but his kicking lets him down. Kinghts would fit perfectly into your midfield but the Crows will want too much for him. The Crows midfield of Edwards, McLeod, Goodwin are only a year or so away from retiring. Knights is worth too much too them

No one would want Bell and Wheatley is past it. Both of those clubs already have younger propects they would rather be playing..

I can't honestly see Knights going anywhere. He's proven his worth to us this year, there were question marks over him earlier in the year (foot skills etc) but ever since coming back from injury he's worked his ass off to get back into the team and shown his excellent goal kicking abilities. Would definitely require a round 1 pick to even consider it, especially given Rendell's criticisms over the depth of the upcoming draft.

He played last week for the Crows against Richmond and has been playing for the Glenelg League side all year (Glenelg are currently top of the SANFL ladder). He is certainly taking a while to develop but your post is so far off the mark its not funny.

both are ridiculous suggestions... if Brent Prismall was worth Pick 34 or whatever it was last season, Knights can't be worth much more surely? I'd say our 2nd round pick at most... and even then I wouldn't be all that happy with it... our 3rd rounder probably isn't enough, another player or swap of picks would have to be thrown in...

Just letting you know, our recruting manager has gone on record to pretty much say there is nothing of value in this draft after the first round.

Therefore a first rounder minimum for Knights, and that would only be if he forced our hand and requested a trade.

Amazing he went from an good average midfielder with a nice long but not overly accurate kick to a dangerous half forward with a booming shot for goal.

To me I don't think you would want to give up anything amazing for him, and as we have Sylvia and Bate as our half forward flankers I don't see him filling a position of need.

If he expressed a desire to return to Vic I'd place in a good offer but I wouldn't see him coming to us.
