Knights is still deciding between the Richmond and Melbourne offer but those are the only 2 considerations with niether being the front runner. But its a 50/50 still.

I'd love him at tigerland at the right price - 200-250k for 2 years would be about right.
Knights has knocked back the Dees offer even though they offered more than us. Wants to play with Ivan

Why on earth would he even think of picking Melbourne before us. We have so much going for us unlike Melbourne do.
The only reason is he would be more likely to play with them because they are so damn shit

Okay I thought I'd put a Crows perspective on this.

He probably leaves the club, he hasn't been offered a contract and is getting minimal game time.

His 2009 was amazing, had his hamstring held together we would've played in a prelim. He kicked 40 odd goals in 20 games. His left foot was a weapon best shot outside 50 in that year.

Then the injuries happened...

His leg doesn't have that 60m distance. He lacks pace, can accumulate good numbers had some very good games last year.

I see him as a good value play for a new club, give him two years and you might get a great player for nothing, or you get a serviceable depth player.

He'll do good things with a change of scenery IMO.

Appreciate the perspective- exactly what we are after and sounds like in a similar position to Grigg and Houli before we got them and Maric to a lesser extent- all have been gun additions

Yeah you've done well with recycled goods. He'll come free of charge and if a new environment gets the best out of him then you guys will be laughing.

He has been very good at SANFL level this year and only average at best at AFL level this year. The Richmond game was his best performance this year ironically.

He represents a good value play.

There's no doubt he's more of a risk than Houli and Grigg - the other 2 didn't carry the injuries with them.

The question will be whether he can get the speed and power back in his legs and if he can stay injury free. If he does, he could be a great recruit. Definitely worth the risk, cause Knights of 2010 is a player we desperately need.

I have also heard he has knocked Melbourne back and we are pretty much it.

Worst case he will be a very good bottom 5 player to have around instead of say a Matt White or he doesn't get on the park.

Best case he gets back to his best as a damaging wing/HFF and he creates another annoying matchup for opposition sides and gives us the depth in our midfield rotating off the HFF kicking 40 goals.

He is a free agent so worth while risk.

Cotchin, Deledio, Martin, Tuck, Foley, Grigg, Conca, Ellis, Knights, 1st pick, Jackson (cringe), 2 other picks in the top 30 will start to give us some tremendous midfield depth.

Free Agency definitely came at the right time for us. Easy to pick up some good cheap older players to fill a few holes and add some depth.

My thoughts exactly.

It gives us the ability to fast forward our rebuild by 1-2 years.

My understanding is:

1. They offered more money than we did but he knocked them back and said he wants to be a tiger....pending them not increasing there offer to a point where it dwarfs ours and we cannot match it.
Well all I've been told is that no decision has been made either way as of yet. I have advised my source to inform him that he would be a most welcome addition to the tigers.

The Mullet of course...
Oh, of course. I was just checking.

Really warming to Knights. With Foley being signed for another two years, but question marks on his durability, it is also a risk to take on another mid with injury concerns, but if it comes off, and BOTH of them (or just one of them) can stay on the park, it's happy days.

Thing I like about Knights is we don't need him for his run, we need him as a HFF to provide another forward target. Hopefully running less may help the injury issues, and give him a better chance of being on the park.

The way I look at it, is if we can get 10 to 12 games out of him next year and give O'Hanlon the same amount without putting too much pressure on him, then it's a win.
