mick stevens signed a 2 year deal last year, so it would get a bit messy imo so my guess is he wont be up for trade this year.Originally posted by Demon37
Lamb for Michael Stevens?
If not, then I'd take Smith.

look he isnt slow without being electric either, his main problem is his kicking isnt all that penatrating. however, he loves it hard and rough and will often get quick kicks out of packs, or fire out quick handpasses. so he is very much an in and under type midfielder. knows where the goals are too, can play in a FP whilst resting, but has incredible endurance and could probably play on the ball all day. will bust a gut too, best work ethic at north imo, just kept trying all year even though he didnt once get into the emergencies, despite his excellent form at vfl level.Originally posted by Demon37
Does Smith have good leg speed? Does he play as an in and under or as a receiver?
I can't say I've seen him much. All I know is that he was a potential number 1 pick in 2000, which suggests he has a ****load of potential.
done!! ill get on the phone to laidley, you do the same to daniher and we can have this all sorted before trade week startsOriginally posted by Deestroy
I'd do Lamb for Smith, the perfect trade. North need young key defenders, we have one that is out of favour, we need young inside midfielders they have one that is out of favour. Both are former first round picks, both could use a change of club.

i dont think i am alone in saying i would love to have smith in the seniors week in week out, but he seams to be a long way down in the pecking order for a spot in the midfield. he hasnt played a game for us all year. the reason we are keen to get a trade for him is we dont wanna lose him for nothing. he remains one of the highest picks we have had in the national draft and it would be disappointing to see it go to waste.Originally posted by CowboyFromHell
Hold on a second... the North supporters seem keen, and in fact a little TOO keen to get rid of Smith... what's wrong with him?
That sounds so much like Chris Lamb it ain't funny!Originally posted by year of the roo

if we could salvage a trade for him, then it wont seem like such a waste...i have no doubt he is good enough!!
you're right, that is stupid!!Originally posted by NathanCarroll41
I understand that Smith has been out of favor with Laidley since he wouldn't shave his ordinary looking beard for the team photo at the start of 2003.
Seems stupid but Laidley mightn't have liked the fact that a young fella was pushing him in his first year when he was trying to build somce respect.

Dead right!
I'm a Chris Lamb fan but ND hates him, simple as that!
I'd be loathed to lose Lamb & am not excited by Dylan Smith but I do see it happening. Not an overly exciting trade all-round but it's probably worth a shot.
