Wouldn't have thought so. We'll end up with a top 8 pick most likely so you wouldn't want to trade a good player for an upgrade of a few spots. Also i dont think any of the bottom 4 would do the trade. Look at 2006 where we got Paddy at 7 (?), and Josh Kennedy went at 4. But then again I havent seen much of the kid, so he might be a pretty much certainty to be a good player.

I get what you're saying about Paddy, that draft picks don't always mean everything. And nothing/nobody is a certainty. I'm more concerned about filling the need of an inside midfielder. I thought the upgrade of a few spots would be a more likely scenario as lower placed clubs don't like giving up high draft picks. SOT4 could you give me a scenario of a trade it would take for this to happen?

I've got no idea, cant remember a trade to move up in the top 10 (although that doesn;t mean it hasnt happened). I dont know what kind of player would be good enough for another club to want, or whether a second round pick would be enough. Maybe Bradley Pick 8 for Pick 4 although I still think they woudlnt take it and we could get screwed.

If Sheedy goes to Melb to coach he might want to bring a few guys with him

Agree it's a risk. The richmond and Polak trade was like that wasn't it??? I can't remember.

If you seriously think that Melbourne would take Johns and move back 5 spots in the draft then think again. There is now way they would consider missing out on one of Cotchin, Palmer or Morton to get Johns.
