Wow, I'm shocked by these statements in the article,

There is no evidence he has left to join another club, nor to accept a position outside of football, heightening speculation that he was forced out.

The first signs of disharmony at Hawthorn emerged when it was reported that Pelchen was required to answer to Mark Evans as general manager of football and not directly to the chief executive Stuart Fox.

I'm shocked that he didn't want to report to anyone other than his BFF Stuey Fox ;)

Selective journalism, I think if we investigate further that most of the picks were in whilst he was at Port Adelaide, whilst Gary Buckenara and Graham Wright were the main men at Hawthorn.
However, I agree, he is the messiah, I bow down to him and hope he will lead us to the almost holy land, where we will run into both expansion teams and have our pants pulled down only to start a rebuild in 2023.
Whist I'm here, 3 cheers for Scotty, Hip Hip....HOORAY, Hip Hip....HOORAY, Hip Hip....HOORAY!!! Go you good things.

People just like to focus on the negative. Never mind that Pelchen was a key part in putting together a premiership side (had a bit to do with Port when they were flying too didn't he?), lets just focus on one bloke being made redundant which in the grand scheme of things won't matter one iota. When did we become a nation of whingers.

Brian Speaking has been fantastic part of this forum for a long time but I suspect his source for all of the good oil has now left the club... hence his posts today.

Remember Pelchen heralded the left footer recruiting strategy at Hawthorn.........maybe that is his new thing for the re build.

The only fact he missed out was that Buddy, Hodge, Lewis, Roughie etc had already been drafted by the time he got there

But why let facts get in the way of a good story!

I guess all the above players could have won the flags without the bit players in Hale, Guerra, Gibson, Burgoyne, Birchall, Puopolo, Smith & Suckling who were all scouted by the recruiters & Pelchen, not to mention the draft picks in Ellis, Rioli, Bruest, Whitecross, Shiels....

I couldn't give a shit if Pelchen is arrogant, he has shown he can help clubs build lists capable of winning flags. First at Port, then Hawthorn....

I get that he may be a dictator type, but all this half glass empty shit is tiring. He's had success twice before, lets give the guy a ruddy chance!

I'm with you, were Ron Barassi, Tom Hafey, Alan Jeans, John Kennedy, Mick Malthouse, Ron Joseph, Alan Aylett, Graham Richmond all loved? I don't care if Pelchen upsets older players, makes babies cry and old women shriek, if he is doing the right thing in building a list to win a flag and create a more professional football club, that is fine with me.

Enough of the hand wringing and over reactions. We aren't involved and can't micro guess from the sidelines. Time will eventually tell whether they have pursued the right strategy or not, but now is the time to take a deep breath and say, "We are rebuilding, therefore some egos may be bruised in the process."

Cant help to have another level above the coach. And when you have it , he's the logical choice to make the hard decisions ( whether they originate from him or not ) , keep the coach on side with the players.
Good coach / bad Pelchin.
