Can't believe Scott was handed a further 4year contract. 4 YEARS!!!!
Never held accountable for his mistakes, never admits his mistakes, and then tells us we should be satisfied all over again.
That's ok for him.

But he wasn't handed a 4-year contract extension

He was contracted for 2019, so doubtful he wouldn't have been coaching the team this year.

He was offered a 3-year contract extension that comes into effect from the end of his previous contract

I think they are a bit better than good

And if more teams played the style Richmond play - i would be watching a hell of alot more of AFL football - because they do everything at top pace - they dont bugggerize around - they move the ball on at every opportunity - it is exhilirating football

You contrast that to Haw in their 3 peat - Gibson gets it at FB - over to Hodge - then to Birchall - then to Burgoyne - then to Mitchell - 5 little 10 metre passes - whistle - whistle - whistle - whistle - it was as boring as bat shiit

If you got 3-4 teams - playing Richmonds style - with good skill - AFL football would be fantastic to watch
They play simple attacking football. One thing I like is that they haven’t changed the way they play. They believe in their game plan and they don’t panic.
I just like teams that play for each other. Their supporters just make it so hard to like the team itself.

As for “if more teams played like them” the issue is you won’t beat them at their own game. They are the masters of it. Like us in 07.

The only thing teams try to do is stop them from doing it which turns the game ugly because it’s all about defence.

He did say that, but in context, it was about how much we’ve improved from last year. It is quite selective to say that as a stand alone phrase.

He also said: “When the dust settles, we’ll rue the opportunity lost. And look forward to finding a way to improve.” Also... “We were just not good enough.”

So he's covered all bases, gee he's easy to read!

A gift Premiership in his first year then 20 after that, how easy!
For a guy who continually stuffs up he's on world record pace.

If he was gifted a premiership in 2011, why didn't we win the premiership in 2010?

Any credit for anything he's achieved with this club or is everything he's touched negative?

Scott just doesn't understand the basics.

He has his one trick that works at KP and in low intensity H/A games but outside that he doesn't have much of a clue.

His main problem is that he puts players ahead of structures, which is a big no no.

You want a winger to be as close to a pure outside player as you can get. The reason is so they can setup goals where other mids cant (outside run, agility, superior kicking skills and decision making).

A tall one paced player with poor kicking skills is the last person you want on the wing. You make your forward entries extremely predictable because you are just adding another player who can only kick short to a free player or a long bomb to no ones advantage.

Or even better playing a makeshift ruck against the competitions best ruck. You can get away with playing a spud ruck against an average ruck because the average ruck doesn't have the skills to press their advantage. An A grade ruck like Grundy certainly knows how to make the most of his advantage which is why it was a completely brainless decision.

Your average AFL fan knows that Blicavs vs Grundy in the ruck is a bad idea. You'd think a coach of 8 years who has seen this play out many times before (Goldy vs Blicavs/Walker) would know better.

These things are unforgivable.

So....... Scott is saying we'll all come to conclude we had a good season, whilst Buckley is 'lamenting a wasted season'.

Shows the different mindset.

One is hungry.
One is a club that blew a grand final then backed it up by blowing a prelim.
The other is a club that got blasted in an EF then backed it up by being overrun (and lamentably) blowing a PF.

One made progress, the other went backwards.
Shock horror that's what both coaches comments reflect.

Its weird but if you pay someone a shitload of money to make stupid decisions then they get defended and justified.

I guess that's one way of looking at it.

That's it. I'm sure you already work at the club now.
Importer, exporter moonlighting as an architect and marine biologist is just the cover.
Now you're on to that, I may have to kill you.
