Im not one to bag our own (Well maybe Walker the spud) but I've slightly questioned Scott ever since last years final against the Hawks. We were even at half time and he decides to start the 3rd quarter with Harry Taylor at FF . Also not making a change on Hill and Smith who were running free all night. We end up getting smashed because of those moves. I still have no idea what his thought process was that night
I think we'll reach a point soon where Sportsbet will start paying out for the opposition once Harry Taylor is moved forward.

If Scott keeps looking at the list for answers to our problems we are in trouble and so is he,yes we have deficiencies on most lines but they pale into insignificance when compared to the coaching and game plan which are sub standard at present. He will get next year to try and turn things around(just my opinion but I don't think he will turn it around) and I don't mean just wins,he needs to bring back an energy and desire for the footy and a game plan the players can buy into that doesn't leave us exposed by turnovers in games and fatigued in the second half of the season.

Even better, the last two weeks have been a gold mine. St Kilda were getting 20 points against us. And then Collingwood were getting 17 points last night.
You watch, next week, the Crows will probably be a 2 goal favourite. Cats will go down by at least 5 goals in that one.

It's Scott's team. We'll have about 5-6 of the players that took the field for the 2010 PF still on the list. It will be his sixth year. If injuries strike in a certain spot and we have no coverage, that's partly on him. If we continue to concede the ruck and clearances and it costs us games, that's on him. The microscope will be on him next year and I have a feeling that after five years, the media will be more than happy to turn the heat up on his press conference routine.
The two year old we know what the problem is and we are addressing it but I'm not going to discuss it here.

A variation on the following theme:

1. Get a ruckman. Two would be even better.
2. See #1 and hope he stays fit.
3. Start winning clearances.
4. Start using the ball better.
5. Start playing actual defenders in the backline instead of broken-down midfielders.
6. Put players in positions they are actually suited to.

Chris Scott has not done one thing since winning the 2011 premiership flag. People have failed to realise that he inherited the good work of Bomber Thompson, Brendan McCartney, David Wheadon, Leigh Tudor, Ken Hinkley and Brenton Sanderson.

From 2012 to the present day, he has adopted a shot gun approach to list management whilst he surrounds himself with a dud coaching staff (Matthew Knights, Dale Amos, Shane O'Bree, Paul Hood and Jason Rahilly) to develop the youngsters on the list. Chris Scott knew he had to re-generate the playing list after 2011 and the first step in list re-generation is to hire the best coaching assistants to develop the youngsters on the list. Hawthorn, Richmond, The Western Bulldogs, St Kilda and North Melbourne have leap frogged Geelong in the quality of coaching support that surrounds the head coach. I am just sick of his excuses every week. There are no excuses in elite sport.

As they say, 'You cannot bullshit a bullshitter!!" and Men are liars and women are schemers. Chris Scott is very good at selling the brand but he has not got the Bomber Thompson midas touch in developing a playing list.

Scary to think those responsible for 5 and 6 will play a part in the coming up cull.

This coming trading and drafting become real important to the club.
Scott cant do a Vossy and try to bring in ready made b graders to try to save his bacon.
he's already been doing that since he took over though.
Stanley, Clark, Rivers, Delaney, Blease. Rumored to have tried to get Shaw, Frawley, Newton, Patfull and now Leuenberger.
There is not one name in there (apart from Frawley) which other clubs would fight for.

Henderson, while not A grade would almost be our best signing out of the lot. Scott Selwood a close second and of course Dangerfield, well he would arguably be the greatest signing Geelong has made since Pasties Peak.

It's not comforting to know blokes like Christensen, Varcoe, Hunt, Hamling have actually had very productive seasons at their new club/s.
Hartman is another that is likely to get a good look at by the two South Australian clubs.

Appears he will and I hope he does as that seems to be the only thing that really brings heat on a coach. Under Scott we have become a very lazy club and seemingly forgotten what made us decent in the first place. Can bring whoever you want in to participate in Scott's seagul game plan and it wont matter.

It makes you wonder there must be something amiss at Skilled Stadium when Travis Varcoe, Taylor Hunt and Allen Christensen have thrived at their new clubs. Taylor Hunt has the benefit of having access to the best teaching coaches in the AFL (Mark Choco Williams) whilst Travis Varcoe has the opportunity to learn from Robert Harvey, Scott Burns and Nathan Buckley.

Under Bomber Thompson, Bomber would not have let Taylor Hunt and Travis Varcoe go. Bomber was a huge believer in developing the players on your list. He knew youngsters would have their 2nd to 3rd year blues and they have to hang in there and they will turn the corner.

And, I raised an eyebrow when Matthew Knights was appointed to the coaching staff. Matthew Knights loves to send champions to centrelink. He nearly sent Dustin Fletcher to Centrelink in 2010!!

And although you and I differ on this, Brown looks like he's a chance to find a home next year too.

I think it is about time for Brian Cook to make an offer to John Worsfold!! Chris Scott is just an average AFL coach!

I don't.
If the club cant bat deep into finals under Scott he shouldn't try to bring in spuds to try to do so.
But doing this will make it harder for the next coach.
Things should be set up for the future.

Yep, Scott keeps deflecting to the list. The old players have been used as scape goats and even though they are falling away they were hardly our main problem. It's the players in the peak age bracket who aren't stepping up.

Sounds a lot like Gary Ayers who went after J Mooney, Spinks, T.lynch, Bamford, Arnott.

I'm sure that's right. But they will stop accepting that and they'll call him out on it. How many negative opinion pieces have we read about Chris Scott in five years? How many times have the Monday night panel shows been critical of him? I'm struggling to think of one, off the top of my head. They'll show some footage of him carrying on like a pork chop in the box, have a laugh and then move on to the next game.

If/when the media perception changes, he's not going to get away with the 'Finally you're seeing what we've been saying for a long time...average team' rubbish any more. I honestly believe that our list is as good as any of the teams that occupy spots five through eight on the ladder. I would have given us a red hot chance against any of them in September. But Chris Scott can't have it both ways. You can't say we're an average team, then expect us to take it up to Fremantle or Hawthorn.
