haha more that happy to enjoy differing opinions. But this is too silly for words Nakia.
Why would that be mate?

Did you enjoy his handball that put Enright under pressure that resulted in a goal to Carlton? How about the terrible choice he made to handball next to the opposition behind post? Or his average opponent having a field day? There were more, but you keep watching those quick nothing kicks he does to build up his stats, the wild kicks forward that make Murdoch appear composed, and rate him on that instead. :thumbsu:

Is it possible to put up the heat map for jimmy in round 1 and round 10?

Now I didn't see the Carlton game. But I've got this feeling I saw the heat map for the round one game and jimmy played right on the half back line. Which is a rebound attack area.

I ask this because I never want to see him deep back.
If he has started going deeper then it's definitely going to slow us.

Bobby is this as reliable as when you said Cady wanted to go to North because posters on the North board said so ?
I never said that and you know it.
I said tweets were circulating from journalists that he had nominated North Melbourne after visiting their facilities. This led onto the mainboard where the topic on the trade was being discussed.
I posted you a link to that particular thread.
You have refuted he never nominated North Melbourne. I would prefer to go by what was transpiring at that particular time of his career than your word years later.

Birchall is fast but that's it,Burgoyne is not fast anymore. No Frawley is not faster than Kolo and Stratton and Gibson are no faster than Mackie and Enright .
So you change your mind after a few hours I see.
Birchall is now fast?

Frawley is not slow at all. He ran down Lewis Jetta on the MCG one time which highlights how quick he is. It was a 100 metre chase too, not some 10 metre chase and last second lunge.
He is an underrated defender because of his foot speed.

Happily disagree with Burgoyne too. You said Birchall was slow, you obviously don't know your footy as well as you think. Burgoyne has wheels. Rarely caught holding the ball. He can go from a 0 to 20 metre dash as well as most.

none of our back 6 are actually slow
And again, happily disagree with this rip snorter! :p

In fact none of our back 6 are actually slow , sure not a lot of speed but none of them are slow.

Like I said above defending is 18 man effort in todays game.
You're right that defence is a team effort, in fact forward 50 defence is incredibly important in the modern game and another area where we're slow and woeful, but Bobby is also right about the speed of Hawthorns defence. Anyway I'm not saying every player has to be a speed demon in defence but I reckon you at least need two with reasonable pace where as we currently have zero, unless Guthrie sometimes plays back there.

Interesting. Thanks Ce.

We know jimmy is an excellent reader of the play.
I wonder if he's seeing the breakdown in pressure up the ground and running deeper to cover arse.

If so, that's not his fault. But they need to fix it. I don't like jimmy chipping out of a back pocket, but I'm completely happy to see him have the ball at CHB and chip through the middle.

Quite a few of those deep possessions were play-ons from kick-outs. Not sure why but he was taking a lot of them yesterday.

IMO its not a case of him playing deep down back rather when we under pressure in our defensive 50 the whole team gets compressed down there.

Yep, I'm serious.

Bartel is severely overrated around these parts, as is most of our side.

Selwood in part prevented a 10 goal loss in the last half.
You'll cop it for making a realistic assessment of Bartel in 2016, the posters who will blindly defend him are still thinking of 2011 Bartel. While he still has good positioning and experience at times, and has improved the contested side of his game this season, he also panic kicks it too much, provides zero speed for rebound, is not accountable enough when manned up in defence, and has no leap so can't really compete in the air anymore.

I know mate, he's a liability.

I'll never get over the fact that we let Johnson go whilst keeping Bartel... it's staggering.

Bartel doesn't make us better in any area while we're bereft of a consistent goalkicking small/med forward. Boggles the mind.

I wouldn't say he's a liability myself. I reckon he's been very good this year. A bit overrated as I think people forget just how brilliant he once was so anytime he plays consistent footy at a high level, we rave on about it.
He's just not a good defender is all and if he's down there with Ruggles or Bews out of the side, I think it spells big trouble. We need a lock down defender. Guthrie is excellent but he's just as valuable through midfield.
Murdoch is hopeless so we must stop that experiment. Perhaps Smedts but then again, he looks better forward.

Again, I've said it numerous times but I'd opt for Darcy Lang to play as a lock down defender. He's quick and he loves tackling and pressuring opponents. Would be a handy player down there.

Funny, never knew trolls to make positive comments in a measured critique as well as negative ones...but you and Daz can share your little agenda.

I amongst many others on here critique certain aspects of our club because we desperately want Geelong to succeed, you guys however are happy with continuing mediocrity as long as it retains the status quo, then (quite amazingly) you have the nerve to label people who want change for the better 'trolls?!?'

Yep. Plainly trolling.

If you are as genuine as you say, focus your energies on someone not currently in the top 10 of the B&F.

So myself and Nakia are plainly trolling, ha, ha...You've finally lost it. Top 10 in the B&F for a guy playing the same role as Mitchell does at Hawthorn, I wonder where Mitchell would be in Hawthorn's B&F at the moment? He'd be top ten in Brownlow voting at the moment, where would Bartel be? Overrated.

Yawn.

Would want to get too far off the CS topic now.

I have an agenda now. Cool. Got told I had a crusade last week. Gathering all kinds of fun words.

But for Jimmy, he's doing ok. Not great, but not horrible. Aint gonna have a team of 22 RD1 picks - unless you are GWS of course. And he's getting put in places of greatest need as a fix all - regardless of his game preferences IMO. Id say he's doing ok.
